¹⁹ And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness and in judgment and in mercy.

¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

²⁷ Zion shall be ransomed with judgment and her converts with righteousness.

²³ I have sworn by myself; the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow; every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ And unto me he shall say, Surely in the LORD is the righteousness and the strength; until he shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. ²⁵ In the LORD shall all the generation of Israel be justified and shall glory.

⁵ For thy Maker shall be thine husband; the LORD of the hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

⁸ In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with eternal mercy I will have compassion on thee, said the LORD thy Redeemer. ⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that I would not be wroth again with thee, nor reprehend thee. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall be removed, and the hills shall tremble; but my mercy shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be changed, said the LORD that has mercy on thee.

¹⁴ With righteousness shalt thou be adorned: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear it; and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

³ Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. ⁴ Thou shalt no longer be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any longer be termed Desolate; but thou shalt be called Hephzibah {Heb. my will in her} and thy land Beulah; {Heb. married}; for the will of the LORD shall be in thee, and thy land shall be married. ⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoices with the bride, so shall thy God rejoice with thee.

¹⁴ Turn, O rebellious sons, said the LORD; for I am your Lord, and I will take you one of a city and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: ¹⁵ And I will give you pastors according to my heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

² And thou shalt swear, The LORD lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteous ness; and the Gentiles shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

³¹ Behold, the days come, said the LORD, in which I will make a new covenant with the house of Jacob and with the house of Judah: ³² not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt because they invalidated my covenant although I was a husband unto them, said the LORD; ³³ But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the LORD, I will give my law in their souls and write it in their hearts and will be their God, and they shall be my people. ³⁴ And they shall no longer teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, said the LORD, for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. ³⁵ ¶ Thus hath the LORD said, who gives the sun for light by day, and the laws of the moon and of the stars for light by night, who divides the sea and the waves thereof roar; The LORD of the hosts is his name; ³⁶ If these laws depart from before me, said the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

³⁸ and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: ³⁹ and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever for the good of them and of their sons after them: ⁴⁰ and I will make an eternal covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good, and I will put my fear in their hearts that they shall not depart from me. ⁴¹ And, I will rejoice with them doing them good, and I will plant them in this land with truth, with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my slave, in which your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they and their sons and their son’s sons for ever; and my slave David shall be their prince for ever. ²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will plant them and multiply them and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. ²⁷ And my tabernacle shall be in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ²⁸ And the Gentiles shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

²⁹ Neither will I hide my face any longer from them, for I will pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, said the Lord GOD.

²⁰ But Judah shall dwell for ever; and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

²⁹ He that has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice; this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

²⁵ whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God, ²⁶ manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.

⁴ Likewise ye also, my brethren, are become dead to the law in the body of the Christ that ye should belong to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

² For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God, for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace, ⁸ which has over abounded in us in all wisdom and prudence;

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife even as the Christ is head of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, and it is he who gives saving health to the body. ²⁴ Therefore, as the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} is subject unto the Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives even as the Christ also loved the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and gave himself for her, ²⁶ that he might sanctify and cleanse her in the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ that he might present her glorious for himself, a congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice and give glory to him; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his bride has made herself ready. ⁸ And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints. ⁹ And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are those who are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true words of God.

² And I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven, prepared of God as a bride adorned for her husband.

⁹ ¶ And there came unto me one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. ¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of the heaven from and with God,
