¹³ But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

¹¹ ¶ The earth corrupted itself before God, and the earth filled itself with violence.

⁹ He was a powerful hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, Even as Nimrod, the powerful hunter before the LORD.

¹⁶ But in the fourth generation they shall come here again; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

²⁰ And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous;

⁴ ¶ But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter; ⁵ and they called unto Lot and said unto him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us that we may know them. ⁶ And Lot went out at the door unto them and shut the door after him ⁷ and said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. ⁸ Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you and do ye to them as is good in your eyes; only unto these men do nothing, for they have come under the shadow of my roof. ⁹ And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This fellow came in to sojourn and is he to lift himself up as judge? Now will we deal worse with thee than with them. And they did great violence to the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. ¹⁰ Then the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house with them and shut the door. ¹¹ And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

⁷ And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD and the LORD slew him.

¹⁸ And the LORD sent thee on a journey and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners of Amalek and fight against them until they are consumed.

⁶ And he made his son pass through the fire and observed times and used enchantments and dealt with spiritists and diviners and multiplied much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

⁹ Except the LORD of the hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

⁸ For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen because their tongue and their doings have been against the LORD, to irritate the eyes of his majesty. ⁹ ¶ The appearance of their countenance witnesses against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom; they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! For they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

²⁴ Can any hide himself in hiding places that I shall not see him? said the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? said the LORD.

⁴⁶ And thine elder sister is Samaria with her daughters that dwell at thy left hand; and thy younger sister that dwells at thy right hand is Sodom with her daughters. ⁴⁷ Yet thou hast not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways. ⁴⁸ As I live, said the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister has never done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. ⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the afflicted and needy. ⁵⁰ And they filled themselves with arrogance and committed abomination before me, and when I saw it, I took them away.

¹⁰ And it came to pass, as he sat at food in his house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.

¹³ Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

²³ And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to Hades, for if the mighty works which have been done in thee had been done in those of Sodom, it would have remained until this day. ²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for thee.

²⁴ Then they called again the man that had been blind and said unto him, Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.

³¹ Now we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone should fear God and do his will, him he will hear.

²⁷ and likewise also the males, leaving the natural use of the females, burned in their lust one toward another, males with males committing nefarious works and receiving in themselves the recompense that proceeded from their error.

¹³ Neither is there any created thing that is not manifested in his presence, but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him of whom we speak.

⁶ and if he condemned by destruction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha, turning them into ashes, making them an example unto those that after should live without fear and reverence of God; ⁷ ¶ and delivered just Lot, who was persecuted by those abominable people because of their nefarious conversation; ⁸ (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, afflicted his righteous soul from day to day with the deeds of those unjust people);

¹⁰ ¶ and chiefly those that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise dominion; presumptuous, arrogant, they are not afraid to speak evil of the higher powers;

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrha and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, were set forth for an example, having received the judgment of eternal fire.
