⁴ And we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.

¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

⁴² ¶ And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers.

² As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work unto which I have called them. ³ And when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they released them.

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility and with many tears and temptations, which have befallen me by the ambushes of the Jews, ²⁰ and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you and have taught you publicly and from house to house, ²¹ testifying both to the Jews and also to the Gentiles, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. ²² And now, behold, I go bound of the Spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there, ²³ except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that prisons and tribulations await me. ²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear unto myself, only that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. ²⁶ Therefore I take you to record this day that I am pure from the blood of everyone. ²⁷ For I have not refrained from declaring unto you the full counsel of God. ²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as bishops to feed the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departing, grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also from among your own selves, men shall arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after themselves. ³¹ Therefore watch and remember that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I always remember you in my prayers,

⁶ So that having different gifts according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, according to the measure of faith; ⁷ or ministry, in serving; or he that teaches, in doctrine; ⁸ he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, let him do it in simplicity; he that presides, in earnest care; he that shows mercy, in cheerfulness.

¹⁶ For though I preach the gospel, I have no reason to glory, for it is an obligation laid upon me; for woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel!

¹⁵ ¶ Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and charity unto all the saints, ¹⁶ cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; ¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

¹⁴ ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ¹⁵ (of whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named), ¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man, ¹⁷ that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity, ¹⁸ may be able to well comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height ¹⁹ and to know the charity of the Christ, which passes all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. ²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, ²¹ unto him be glory in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} by Christ Jesus throughout all generations of the ages of the ages. Amen.

⁴ always in every prayer of mine for you all, making request with joy,

⁹ ¶ And this I pray that your charity may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all perception, ¹⁰ that ye may approve the best, that ye may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ, ¹¹ being filled with fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

⁹ ¶ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, asking that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, ¹⁰ that ye might walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in everything, being fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God, ¹¹ strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness, ¹² ¶ giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us worthy to participate in the inheritance of the saints in light, ¹³ who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,

¹ ¶ For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a slave of Christ, salutes you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand firm, perfect and fulfilled in all the will of God.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Take heed to fulfil the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord.

¹³ Until I come, occupy thyself reading, exhorting, teaching. ¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which is given unto thee to prophesy, through the laying on of the hands of the elders. ¹⁵ Occupy thyself in these things with care, for in this is everything, that thy profiting may be manifest unto all. ¹⁶ Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; be diligent in this, for in doing so thou shalt both save thyself and those that hear thee.

² Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
