29 Who is sick, and I am not sick? who stumbles, and I burn not?

Numbers 25:6-11

6 ¶ Then, behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. 7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; 8 and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. So the plague of the sons of Israel was stayed. 9 And those that died in that plague were twenty-four thousand. 10 Then the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, 11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the sons of Israel, being zealous for my sake among them, therefore I did not consume the sons of Israel in my jealousy.

Ezra 9:1-3

1 ¶ Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites, doing according to their abominations, 2 for they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, and the holy seed is mingled with the peoples of the lands; and the hand of the princes and of the governors has been foremost in this trespass. 3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle and plucked off of the hair of my head and of my beard and sat down astonied.

Nehemiah 5:6-13

6 ¶ And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words. 7 Then I meditated unto myself, and I rebuked the principals and the rulers and said unto them, Does each one of you exact usury of his brother? And I set a great assembly against them. 8 And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren, the Jews who had been sold unto the Gentiles; and will ye even sell your brethren? And shall they be sold unto us? Then they remained silent, for they had nothing to answer. 9 Also I said, What you do is not good, do you not walk in the fear of our God, that ye not be the reproach of our enemies the Gentiles? 10 I, likewise, and my brethren and my servants, have lent them money and grain; let us now release them from this burden. 11 Restore, I pray you, to them, today, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, and even the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them. 12 Then they said, We will return it and will require nothing of them; so we will do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests and caused them to sware that they should do according to this promise. 13 Also I shook my lap and said, Thus will God shake out each man from his house and from his labour, that does not perform this promise, even thus shall he be shaken out and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

Nehemiah 13:15-20

15 ¶ In those days I saw in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath and bringing in sheaves and lading asses with wine, grapes, figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day; and I protested unto them the day in which they sold the food. 16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, who brought fish and all manner of merchandise, and sold on the sabbath to the sons of Judah in Jerusalem. 17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do and profane thus the sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers do this, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us and upon this city? Yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. 19 And it came to pass, that when shadow came to the gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut and charged that they should not be opened until after the sabbath; and I set some of my servants at the gates, that no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. 20 So the merchants and sellers of all kinds of merchandise lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice.

Nehemiah 13:23-25

23 ¶ In those days I also saw Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab; 24 and their sons spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and according to the language of each people; for they could not speak in the Jews’ language. 25 And I contended with them and cursed them and smote certain of them and plucked off their hair and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.

1 Corinthians 5:1-5

1 ¶ It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2 And ye are puffed up and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, him that has so done this deed. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 let such a one be delivered unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:5-7

5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brothers? 6 But brother goes to judgment against brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is certainly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather suffer the wrong? why do ye not rather be defrauded?

1 Corinthians 6:15-18

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them the members of a harlot? In no wise. 16 What? know ye not that he who is joined to the harlot is one body with her? For they shall be, saith he, two in one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Any other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 8:13

13 Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.

1 Corinthians 11:22

1 Corinthians 12:26

26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer together; or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice together.

1 Corinthians 15:12-34

12 ¶ Now if the Christ is preached that rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither is Christ risen; 14 and if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 And we are even found false witnesses of God because we have testified of God that he raised up the Christ, whom he did not raise up, if it so be that the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not raised either; 17 and if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain; ye are even yet in your sins. 18 Then those also who are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have existence in Christ, we are the most miserable of all men. 20 ¶ But now Christ is risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of those that slept. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in the Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward, those that are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under him, it is clear that he is excepted, who did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also subject himself unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 30 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? 31 I die daily to stay in the glory of having taught you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what does it advantage me, if the dead do not rise? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil companions corrupt good character. 34 Watch diligently, and sin not; for some do not know God: I speak this to your shame.

1 Corinthians 15:36

36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not brought to life, unless it dies first;

2 Corinthians 2:4-5

4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know how much more charity I have towards you. 5 ¶ But if any have caused me grief, he has not grieved me, but in part, that I may not put a burden on you all.

2 Corinthians 7:5-6

5 ¶ For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. 6 Nevertheless God, who comforts the humble, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

13 For these false apostles are deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And it is no marvel, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

2 Corinthians 13:9

9 By which we are glad that we are weak and ye are strong, and even so we pray for your perfection.

Galatians 1:7-10

7 for there is not another; but there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of the Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, were to preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be anathema. 9 As we said before, so do I say now again, If anyone preaches any other gospel unto you than what ye have received, let him be anathema. 10 ¶ For do I now persuade men or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the slave of Christ.

Galatians 2:4-6

4 And that in spite of the false brethren, who entered secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage; 5 Unto whom we did not submit even for one hour that the truth of the gospel might remain with you. 6 But of these who seemed to be of repute, (whatever they were, it makes no matter to me: God does not accept the appearance of men), for those who seemed to be of repute in conference added nothing to me;

Galatians 2:14

14 But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, dost live after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Galatians 3:1-3

1 ¶ O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you that ye should not trust in the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Did ye receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun by the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Galatians 4:8-20

8 ¶ However then, when ye did not know God, ye did service unto those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now, having known God, or rather being known of God, how do ye turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, in which ye desire again to be in slavery? 10 Ye observe days and months and times and years. 11 I am afraid for you, lest I have bestowed labour upon you in vain. 12 ¶ Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are; ye have not injured me at all. 13 Ye know how through weakness of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. 14 And my affliction which was in my flesh ye did not despise, nor reject but ye received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. 15 Where is then the blessedness ye spoke of? for I bear you record that if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me. 16 Am I, therefore, become your enemy because I tell you the truth? 17 ¶ They are zealous after you, but not for good; they would exclude you from us, that ye might be zealous after them. 18 It is good to be always zealous to do good, and not only when I am present with you. 19 ¶ My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ is formed in you, 20 I desire to be present with you now and to change my voice, for I stand in doubt of you.

Galatians 5:2-4

2 Behold, I, Paul, say unto you that if ye become circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Ye are empty of the Christ, whosoever of you that justify yourselves by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Galatians 6:2

2 Bear ye one another’s burdens and so fulfil the law of the Christ.

1 Thessalonians 3:5-8

5 For this cause I, also, not waiting any longer, have sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter has tempted you and our labour is in vain. 6 ¶ But now when Timothy came from you unto us and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you. 7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our tribulation and need by your faith; 8 for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

Jude 1:3-4

3 ¶ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly persevere in the faith which was given once unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares without fear or reverence of God, who from beforehand have been ordained unto this condemnation, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying God who alone has dominion, and our Lord Jesus, the Christ.

Revelation 3:15-18

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined in the fire, that thou may be made rich; and clothed in white raiment, so that the shame of thy nakedness not be uncovered; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou may see.
