² And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

¹⁵ ¶ And he took up his parable and said, Balaam, the son of Beor, has said, the man whose eyes are open has said, ¹⁶ he who has heard the words of God has said, and he who knows the knowledge of the most High, he who saw the vision of the Almighty, fallen, but having his eyes open: ¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not near by; there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel and shall smite the corners of Moab and destroy all the sons of Seth. ¹⁸ And Edom shall be taken; Seir also shall be taken by his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. ¹⁹ Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion and shall destroy what remains of the city. ²⁰ And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek, head of the Gentiles; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever. ²¹ And he looked on the Kenite and took up his parable and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock; ²² because the Kenite shall be thrown out, when Asshur shall carry thee away captive. ²³ And he took up his parable again and said, Alas, who shall live when God shall do these things! ²⁴ And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim and shall afflict Asshur and shall afflict Eber, but he also shall perish for ever.

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? ²³ And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it is not given.

²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unfaithfulness; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

¹⁹ And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it and found nothing upon it, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee from now on for ever. And then the fig tree withered away.

²¹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, it shall be done.

²² And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Have faith in God. ²³ For verily I say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Remove thyself and cast thyself into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that what he says shall be done whatsoever he says shall be done unto him.

⁵ And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. ⁶ And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamore tree, Pluck thyself up by the root, and plant thyself in the sea, and it would obey you.

²⁵ For I would not, brethren, that ye ignore this mystery, that ye not be arrogant regarding yourselves: that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles are come in.

²⁵ ¶ Now to him that is able to confirm you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was concealed from times eternal

¹ ¶ Let us reckon men as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing but the keeping of the commandments of God.

⁴ ¶ As concerning, therefore, the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit a word of wisdom; to another, a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; ⁹ to another, faith by the same Spirit; to another, gifts of healing by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ to another, the operation of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, discerning of spirits; to another, different kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues:

²⁸ And God did set certain ones in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}: first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that faculties, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

¹ ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned and have not charity, it profits me nothing.

¹ ¶ Follow after charity and earnestly pursue spiritual gifts, but above all, that ye may prophesy. ² For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God, for no one understands him, even though by the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

⁶ ¶ Now, brothers, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either with revelation or with knowledge or with prophecy or with doctrine? ⁷ And even things without life giving sound, whether flute or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is played or harped? ⁸ For if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? ⁹ So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue a clear and definite word, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

³⁹ Therefore, brothers, earnestly pursue prophecy and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

²² If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema. Our Lord has come.

¹¹ ¶ I have been a fool, glorying; ye have compelled me; for I ought to have been commended of you, for in nothing am I behind the grandiose apostles, though I am nothing.

¹⁶ This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,

³ For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

⁴ by which, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of the Christ),

¹⁹ ¶ and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

²⁶ even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints,

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

⁸ He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity.

²⁰ If anyone says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? ²¹ And we have this commandment from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.
