THE TORAH ON A REVOLTING AND REBELLIOUS SON When a man has a revolting and rebellious son, who hearkens not to the voice of his father or the voice of his mother and that, when they discipline him, he hearkens not to them:

²⁰ and they say to the elders of his city, This our son is revolting and rebellious, he hearkens not to our voice; he is a glutton and a carouser.

¹⁷ Seeing you hate discipline and cast my words behind you.

⁷ to awe of Yah Veh is the beginning of knowledge; fools disrespect wisdom and discipline.

²⁴ Because I called and you refuse; I spread my hand and no one hearkens; ²⁵ you loose all my counsel and will none of my reproof. ²⁶ I laugh at your calamity; I deride when your dread comes ²⁷ - when your dread comes as devastation and your calamity comes as a hurricane; when tribulation and distress come on you. ²⁸ Then they call me, and I answer not; they seek me early, and they find me not; ²⁹ because they hate knowledge and choose not the awe of Yah Veh; ³⁰ they will not my counsel; they scorn all my reproof; ³¹ they eat of the fruit of their own way and satiate with their own counsels: ³² for the apostasy of the gullible slaughters them and the serenity of fools destroys them. ³³ And whoever hearkens to me tabernacles confidently; and relaxes from dread of evil.

¹¹ and you growl at the finality when your flesh and your meat finish off, ¹² and say, How I hated discipline and my heart scorned reproof: ¹³ and I neither obeyed the voice of my teachers nor spread my ear to them who taught me:

³³ hear discipline and enwisen and refuse it not: ³⁴ Blithe - the human who hears me; guarding day by day at my gates; waiting at the posts of my portals. ³⁵ For whoever finds me finds life and promotes the pleasure of Yah Veh: ³⁶ and whoever sins against me violates his own soul; all who hate me love death.

¹⁴ The heart of the discerner seeks knowledge; and the face of fools befriends folly.

²¹ Folly is cheerfulness to one lacking heart; and a man of discernment walks straightly.

¹⁶ Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to chattelize wisdom, when he has no heart for it?

¹⁵ The heart of the discerning chattelizes knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

¹ A man of reproofs, with hardened neck, breaks in a blink - and there is no healing.

⁵ Why be smitten any more? You increase revolt; the whole head is sick; and the whole heart bleeds:

³ O Yah Veh, are not your eyes on trustworthiness? you smite them, and they writhe not; you finish them off, and they refuse to take correction: they toughen their faces as a rock; they refuse to return.

¹³ In your foulness is intrigue: because I purify you; and you purify not: you purify not from your foulness any more until I rest my fury on you. ¹⁴ I Yah Veh have worded: so be it; and I work it: I neither release nor spare nor sigh: according to your ways and according to your exploits they judge you - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh.

So everyone - whoever hears my words and does them, I liken to a thoughtful man, who builds his house on a rock: ²⁵ and the rain descends and the streams come and the winds puff and beat on that house; and it falls not: for it is founded on a rock. ²⁶ And whoever hears these sayings of mine and does them not, is likened to a foolish man who builds his house on sand: ²⁷ and the rains descend and the streams come and the winds puff and dash on that house; and it falls: and mega is the downfall.

¹⁵ overseeing lest anyone fall behind of the charism of Elohim; lest any sprouting root of bitterness harass you; and through this many are defiled;

²² and become doers of the word and not only hearers - deluding your own selves.

¹⁹ As many as ever I befriend I reprove and discipline: so be zealous and repent.
