THE SECOND LAMENTATION
How Adonay overclouds the daughter of Siyon in his wrath; - casts the beauty of Yisra El from the heavens to the earth; and remembers not the stool of his feet in the day of his wrath! 2 Adonay swallows all the folds of Yaaqov and spares not; in his fury he demolishes the fortresses of the daughter of Yah Hudah; he touches them to the earth; he profanes the sovereigndom and the governors; 3 in his fuming wrath he cuts off all the horn of Yisra El; he turns back his right from the face of the enemy; and he burns against Yaaqov as a flaming fire - consuming all around: 4 he bends his bow as an enemy; he stations with his right as a tribulator and slaughters all who are a desire to the eye in the tent of the daughter of Siyon; he pours out his fury as fire. 5 Adonay, as an enemy, swallows Yisra El, he swallows all her citadels; he ruins his fortresses; and abounds mourning and sighing in the daughter of Yah Hudah: 6 he violates his sukkoth/brush arbor as a garden; he ruins his seasons; Yah Veh has the seasons and shabbaths to be forgotten in Siyon; and in the rage of his wrath scorns the sovereign and the priest: 7 Adonay casts off his sacrifice altar; he rejects his holies; he shuts the walls of her citadels to the hand of the enemy; they give voice in the house of Yah Veh as in the day of seasons. 8 Yah Veh machinates to ruin the wall of the daughter of Siyon: he spreads a line; he turns not back his hand from swallowing; and he has the trench and the wall lament; they languish together: 9 her portals sink into the earth; he destroys and breaks her bars; her sovereign and her governors are among the goyim; the torah is not; her prophets also find no vision from Yah Veh: 10 the elders of the daughter of Siyon settle on the earth and hush; they ascend dust on their heads; they girt themselves with saq; the virgins of Yeru Shalem lower their heads to the earth. 11 My eyes finish off with tears; my inwards foam; my liver pours on the earth for the breech of the daughter of my people; because the infants and the sucklings languish in the broadways of the city. 12 They say to their mothers, Where are crop and wine? - as they languish as the pierced in the broadways of the city; as their soul pours into the bosom of their mothers. 13 What take I to witness for you? What liken I to you, O daughter of Yeru Shalem? What equate I to you, so that I sigh over you, O virgin daughter of Siyon? For your breach is great as the sea; who heals you? 14 Your prophets see your vanity and your slime; and they expose not your perversity to turn your captivity; but see for you vain burdens and seductions. 15 All who pass by the way clap their palms at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Yeru Shalem, Is this the city of whom is said, Total beauty? - the joy of the whole earth? 16 All your enemies gasp their mouth against you; they hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We swallowed her! Surely this is the day we awaited! We found! We saw! 17 Yah Veh works what he intrigued; he cut the saying he commanded in the days of antiquity; he demolished and spared not; and he has your enemy to cheer over you: he lifts the horn of your tribulators. 18 Their heart cries to Adonay, O wall of the daughter of Siyon, they cascade tears as a wadi day and night; give yourself no breather; may the daughter of your eye not be stilled. 19 Rise! Cry out in the night, in the head of the watches; pour your heart as water at the face of Adonay; lift your palms toward him for the soul of your infants who languish for famine in the top of all the outways. 20 See, O Yah Veh, and look to whom you thus exploit. Are the women to eat their fruit - infants of a palm span? - priest and the prophet slaughtered in the holies of Adonay? 21 The lad and the aged lie on the earth in the outways; my virgins and my young men fall by the sword; you slaughter them in the day of your wrath - slaughter and spare not. 22 You call as in a day of season my terrors all around, so that in the day of the wrath of Yah Veh there is neither escapee nor survivor; they whom I palm spanned and abounded my enemy consumed.
