²⁰ for the bed is shorter than to spread thereon: and the covering narrower than to enfold therein.

¹² I tell your justness and your works; and they benefit you not. ¹³ You cry; your throngs rescue you; and the wind bears them all away; vanity takes them: and he who seeks refuge in me inherits the land, and inherits my holy mountain:

⁵ they split the eggs of the hisser, and weave the web of the spider: he who eats their eggs dies, and the crushed egg splits into a hisser. ⁶ Neither their webs become clothes, nor cover they themselves with their works: their works are works of mischief and the deed of violence is in their palms.

⁶ And we are all as foul - all of us and all our justnesses as menstrual clothes: and we wither as a leaf - all of us and our perversities, as the wind, bear us away:

³ Whoever slaughters an ox, smites a man; whoever sacrifices a lamb, breaks the neck of a dog; whoever holocausts an offering, the blood of swine; whoever memorializes with incense, blesses mischief: yes, they choose their own ways and their soul delights in their abominations. ⁴ I also - I choose their exploits, and bring their terrors on them; because when I call, no one answers; when I word, they hear not: but they work evil in front of my eyes and choose that in which I delight not. ⁵ Hear the word of Yah Veh, you who tremble at his word; your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for sake of my name, say, Yah Veh is honored: and we see your cheerfulness, and they shame: ⁶ a voice of uproar from the city; a voice from the manse; a voice of Yah Veh shalaming his enemies.

⁸ Behold, you confide in false words that benefit not; ⁹ you steal, murder, and adulterize, and oath falsely and incense to Baal; and walk after other elohim whom you know not: ¹⁰ and then you come and stand at my face in this house on which my name is called, and say, We are rescued! in order to work all these abhorrences.

JUSTNESS BY TRUST
So what? Say we that the goyim who pursued not justness overtook justness - even the justness of trust? ³¹ And Yisra El, who pursued the torah of justness, attained not to the torah of justness? ³² Why? Because - not by trust, but as by the works of the torah. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

¹⁸ For the word of the stake is to them who destruct, foolishness indeed; and to us, being saved, the dynamis of Elohim. ¹⁹ For it is scribed, I destroy the wisdom of the wise and set aside the comprehension of the comprehending. ^{Isaiah 29:14 20} Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this eon? Elohim indeed, follies he not the wisdom of this cosmos? ²¹ For since in the wisdom of Elohim the cosmos knew not Elohim through wisdom, Elohim well-approved that through the foolishness of preaching to save them who trust. ²² Since the Yah Hudiym ask a sign and the Hellenes seek after wisdom: ²³ we also - we preach Messiah staked - to the Yah Hudiym, indeed a scandal and to the Hellenes foolishness; ²⁴ and to the called - both Yah Hudiym and Hellenes, Messiah - the dynamis of Elohim and the wisdom of Elohim. ²⁵ Because the foolishness of Elohim is wiser than humanity; and the frailty of Elohim mightier than humanity. ²⁶ For you see your calling brothers, how that not many wise after the flesh, not many able, not many well-birthed: ²⁷ But Elohim selects the foolish of the cosmos to shame the wise; and Elohim selects the frailties of the cosmos to shame the mighty; ²⁸ and the ignoble of the cosmos and the belittled Elohim selects; yes, and those not being to inactivate those being: ²⁹ so that no flesh boasts in his sight. ³⁰ And you of him - you are in Messiah Yah Shua, who of Elohim becomes our wisdom and justness and holiness and redemption: ³¹ that, exactly as scribed, Whoever boasts, boast in the Yah Veh. ^{Jeremiah Yah 9:23, 24}
