¹² And the sons of Yah Hudah: Er and Onan and Shelah and Peres and Zerach and Er and Onan die in the land of Kenaan. And the sons of Peres: Hesron and Hamul.

³⁵ And she conceives again and births a son: and she says, At this time I spread hands to Yah Veh: so she calls his name Yah Hudah; and stays from birthing.

YAH HUDAH AND TAMAR
And so be it, at that time, Yah Hudah descends from his brothers and turns to a man - an Adullamiy whose name is Hirah: ² and Yah Hudah sees there a daughter of a man - a Kenaaniy whose name is Shuah: and he takes her and goes in to her; ³ and she conceives and births a son; and he calls his name Er.

⁷ And Er, the firstbirth of Yah Hudah, is evil in the eyes of Yah Veh; and Yah Veh deathifies him.

¹⁰ And what he works is evil in the eyes of Yah Veh: and he deathifies him also.

²⁴ And so be it, about three months after, they tell Yah Hudah, saying, Tamar your daughter in law has whored; and also, behold, she conceived by whoredoms. And Yah Hudah says, Bring her, and burn her. ²⁵ They bring her, and she sends to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, I conceived! And she says, Recognize, I beseech you, whose these are - the seal and braids and rod. ²⁶ And Yah Hudah recognizes them, and says, She is more justified than I; because I gave her not to Shelah my son. - and he knew her again no more. ²⁷ And so be it, in the time of her birthing, that, behold, twins in her belly. ²⁸ And so be it, as she births, the one gives out a hand: and the accoucheuse takes and binds scarlet on his hand, saying, This came out first. ²⁹ And so be it, as he turns back his hand, behold, his brother comes out: and she says, How have you breached? This breach be upon you! - and he calls his name Peres. ³⁰ And afterward his brother comes out, with the scarlet on his hand: and he calls his name Zerach.

⁸ Yah Hudah: you to whom your brothers spread hands: your hand is on the neck of your enemies; the sons of your father prostrate to you: ⁹ Yah Hudah is a whelp of a lion: from the prey, my son, you ascend: he kneels; he crouches as a lion and as a roaring lion; who rouses him? ¹⁰ Neither turns the scion aside from Yah Hudah nor a statute setter from between his feet until Shiloh come; and the obedience of the people is his: ¹¹ binding his foal to the vine and the son of his she burro to the choice; he launders his robes in wine and his veil in the blood of grapes: ¹² his eyes flush with wine and his teeth whiten with milk.
