1
YAH VEH REJECTS SHAUL AS SOVEREIGN
And Shemu El says to Shaul, Yah Veh sends me to anoint you sovereign over his people - over Yisra El: and now, hearken to the voice of the words of Yah Veh; 2 Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: I visit what Amaleq worked to Yisra El - how he set for him in the way in ascending from Misrayim. 3 Now go and smite Amaleq and devote all they have and spare them not; deathify both man and woman, from suckling and infant, ox and lamb, camel and he burro. 4 And Shaul hears the people and musters them in Telaim - two hundred thousand on foot and ten thousand men of Yah Hudah: 5 and Shaul comes to a city of Amaleq and lurks in the wadi. 6 And Shaul says to the Qayiniy, Go! Turn aside! Descend from midst the Amaleq lest I gather you with them: for you worked mercy to all the sons of Yisra El when they ascended from Misrayim. - and the Qayiniy turn aside from midst Amaleq. 7 And Shaul smites the Amaleq from Havilah until you come to Shur at the face of Misrayim: 8 and he apprehends alive Agag the sovereign of the Amaleq and devotes all the people with the mouth of the sword. 9 And Shaul and the people spare Agag and the best of the flock and of the oxen and of the second sort and the rams and all the good; and wills to not devote them: but they devote all the vile and molten. 10 And the word of Yah Veh comes to Shemu El, saying, 11 I sigh that I have Shaul to reign sovereign: for he turns back from after me and raises not my words. - and it inflames Shemu El and he cries to Yah Veh all night. 12 And Shemu El starts early to meet Shaul in the morning, and they tell Shemu El, saying, Shaul comes to Karmel; and behold, he stations himself a hand: and he goes around and passes on and descends to Gilgal. 13 And Shemu El comes to Shaul: and Shaul says to him, Blessed - you of Yah Veh: I raise the word of Yah Veh. 14 And Shemu El says, What then - this voice of the flock in my ears? And the voice of the oxen I hear? 15 And Shaul says, They bring them from the Amaleqiy: for the people spared the best of the flock and of the oxen, to sacrifice to Yah Veh your Elohim; and the remainder we devote. 16 Then Shemu El says to Shaul, Loosen up and I tell you what Yah Veh worded me this night. And he says to him, Word. 17 And Shemu El says, Is it not, though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the scions of Yisra El? And Yah Veh anoints you sovereign over Yisra El? 18 And Yah Veh sends you on a journey, and says, Go and devote the sinners the Amaleq! Fight them until you finish them off! 19 And why hearken you not to the voice of Yah Veh, but swoop on the spoil and work evil in the eyes of Yah Veh? 20 And Shaul says to Shemu El, Because - I heard the voice of Yah Veh and went the way Yah Veh sent me and brought Agag the sovereign of Amaleq and devoted Amaleq: 21 and the people took of the spoil - of the flock and oxen, the firstlings of the devoted, to sacrifice to Yah Veh your Elohim in Gilgal. 22 And Shemu El says, Delights Yah Veh in holocausts and sacrifices as much as in hearing the voice of Yah Veh? Behold, hearing is better than sacrificing; and hearkening, than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is the sin of divination and stubbornness, mischief and teraphim: because you refuse the word of Yah Veh he also refuses you from being sovereign. 24 And Shaul says to Shemu El, I sinned: for I trespassed the mouth of Yah Veh and your words: because I awed the people and heard their voice: 25 and now, I beseech you, lift my sin and turn back with me to prostrate to Yah Veh. 26 And Shemu El says to Shaul, I return not with you: for you refused the word of Yah Veh and Yah Veh refuses you from being sovereign over Yisra El. 27 And as Shemu El turns about to go away, he holds the border of his mantle - and it rips. 28 And Shemu El says to him, Yah Veh rips the sovereigndom of Yisra El from you this day; and gives it to your friend - better than you: 29 and also, the Perpetuity of Yisra El neither falsifies nor sighs: for he is no human, that he sighs. 30 Then he says, I sinned! Honor me now, I beseech you, in front of the elders of my people and in front of Yisra El and turn back with me, to prostrate to Yah Veh your Elohim. 31 - and Shemu El turns back after Shaul; and Shaul prostrates to Yah Veh. 32 And Shemu El says, Bring near me Agag the sovereign of the Amaleq. And Agag comes to him delicately: and Agag says, Surely the bitterness of death is turned aside. 33 And Shemu El says, As the sword bereaves women, thus be your mother bereft among women. - and Shemu El cleaves Agag in pieces at the face of Yah Veh in Gilgal. 34 And Shemu El goes to Ramah; and Shaul ascends to his house to Gibah of Shaul: 35 and Shemu El adds not to see Shaul until the day of his death: surely Shemu El mourns for Shaul: and Yah Veh sighs to have Shaul reign over Yisra El.

1 Samuel 27:1-12

1
DAVID AND THE PELESHETHIY
And David says in his heart, And now I become scraped away one day by the hand of Shaul: there is naught better for me than to speedily escape into the land of the Peleshethiy; so that Shaul quits seeking me any more in any border of Yisra El: and in escaping, I escape from his hand. 2 And David rises and passes over with his six hundred men to Achish the son of Maoch the sovereign of Gath: 3 and David settles with Achish at Gath - he and his men - every man with his household, David with his two women, Achiy Noam the Yizre Eliyth and Abi Gail the Karmeliyth - the woman of Nabal. 4 And they tell Shaul that David flees to Gath: and he adds not to seek for him. 5 And David says to Achish, If I now find charism in your eyes, give me a place in one of the cities of the field to settle there: for why settle your servant with you in the sovereigndom city? 6 Then that day Achish gives him Siqlag: so Siqlag becomes to the sovereigns of Yah Hudah to this day: 7 and the number of days David settles in the field of the Peleshethiy is a full year of days and four months. 8 And David and his men ascend and strip the Geshuriy and the Gezeriy and the Amaleqiy: for they are originally the settlers of the land as you go to Shur to the land of Misrayim: 9 and David smites the land and leaves neither man nor woman alive; and takes away the flock and the oxen and the he burros and the camels and the covering and returns and comes to Achish. 10 And Achish says, Where stripped you today? And David says, Against the south of Yah Hudah and against the south of the Yerachme Eliy and against the south of the Qayiniy. 11 And David lets neither man nor woman live to bring to Gath, saying, Lest they tell on us, saying, So worked David and thus be his judgment all the days he settles in the field of the Peleshethiy. 12 And Achish trusts David, saying, In stinking, he stinks among his people Yisra El; so he becomes my servant eternally.

1 Samuel 30:1-31

1
DAVID DESTROYS THE AMALEQIY
And so be it, on the third day, David and his men come to Siqlag: and the Amaleqiy strip the south and Siqlag and smite Siqlag and burn it with fire 2 and capture the women therein: they deathify no man, either great or small, but drive them away and go on their way. 3 And David and his men come to the city, and behold, it is burned with fire; and their women and their sons and their daughters are captured. 4 And David and the people with him lift their voice and weep, until they have no more force to weep: 5 for they had captured the two women of David - Achiy Noam the Yizre Eliyth and Abi Gail the woman of Nabal the Karmeliy: 6 and David is mighty depressed; for the people say of stoning him, because the soul of all the people embitters - every man for his sons and for his daughters. And David strengthens in Yah Veh his Elohim; 7 and David says to Abi Athar the priest the son of Achiy Melech, I beseech you, bring near the ephod. - and Abi Athar brings near the ephod to David. 8 And David asks at Yah Veh, saying, Pursue I after this troop? Overtake them? And he says to him, Pursue! In overtaking, overtake! And in rescuing, rescue! 9 And David goes - he with his six hundred men and comes to the wadi Besor, and those remaining, stay: 10 and David pursues - he and four hundred men: for two hundred stay behind - too exhausted to pass over the wadi Besor. 11 And they find a man - a Misrayim in the field and take him to David; and give him bread and he eats; and they have him drink water; 12 and they give him a slice of a lump of figs and two raisincakes: and he eats, and his spirit returns to him: for he had neither eaten bread nor drank water three days and three nights. 13 And David says to him, Whose are you? Whence are you? And he says, I am a lad - a Misrayim; servant to a man, an Amaleqiy; and my adoni leaves me, because three days ago, I fell sick. 14 We stripped the south of the Kerethiy and against that which is to Yah Hudah; and on the south of Kaleb; and we burned Siqlag with fire. 15 And David says to him, Bring you me down to this troop? And he says, Oath to me by Elohim, that you neither deathify me nor shut me into the hands of my adoni - and I descend you to this troop. 16 And he descends him, and behold, they disperse upon the face of all the earth, eating and drinking and celebrating, because of all the great spoil they took from the land of the Peleshethiy and from the land of Yah Hudah. 17 And David smites them from the evening breeze to the evening of the morrow: and not a man of them escapes except four hundred lads flee riding on camels. 18 And David rescues all that the Amaleqiy took: and David rescues his two women: 19 and they lack naught - from small to great; neither sons nor daughters; neither spoil nor aught they took to them: David returns all: 20 and David takes all the flocks and the oxen, which they drove at the face of those chattel and says, This is the spoil for David. 21 And David comes to the two hundred men who were too exhausted to go with David, whom they settled at the wadi Besor: and they go to meet David and to meet the people with him: and David comes near to the people, and he asks shalom of them. 22 And all the evil men of Beli Yaal, of those men who went with David, answer and say, Because they went not with us, we give them naught of the spoil we rescued, except to every man his woman and his sons to drive them away and go. 23 And David says, Work not thus, my brothers, with what Yah Veh gives us, who guards us from the troop that come against us and gives them into our hand. 24 And who hearkens to you in this word? but as his allotment, who descends to the war, thus his allotment, who settles by his instruments - they allot unitedly. 25 - and so be it, from that day and onward, that he set it a statute and a judgment for Yisra El to this day. 26 And David comes to Siqlag, and he sends of the spoil to the elders of Yah Hudah - to his friends, saying, Behold, a blessing for you of the spoil of the enemies of Yah Veh: 27 to them in Beth El and to them in south Ramoth and to them in Yattir 28 and to them in Aroer and to them in Siphmoth and to them in Eshtemoa 29 and to them in Rachal and to them in the cities of the Yerachme Eliy and to them in the cities of the Qayiniy 30 and to them in Hormah and to them in Kor Ashan and to them in Athach 31 and to them in Hebron and to all the places where David himself and his men walked.
