¹⁷ And after the death of Yah Yada the governors of Yah Hudah come and prostrate to the sovereign: then the sovereign hearkens to them: ¹⁸ and they forsake the house of Yah Veh Elohim of their fathers and serve asherim and idols; and rage comes upon Yah Hudah and Yeru Shalem for this their guilt: ¹⁹ and he sends prophets among them to return them to Yah Veh: and they witness against them; but they hearken not. ²⁰ And the Spirit of Elohim enrobes Zechar Yah the son of Yah Yada the priest - who stands above the people and says to them, Thus says Elohim, Why trespass you the misvoth of Yah Veh, and prosper not? Because you forsake Yah Veh, he forsakes you. ²¹ And at the misvah of the sovereign they conspire against him; and stone him with stones in the court of the house of Yah Veh. ²² Thus Yah Ash the sovereign remembers not the mercy Yah Yada his father worked to him; but slaughters his son. And as he dies, he says, Yah Veh sees and requires.

⁴ And he works straight in the eyes of Yah Veh, according to all his father Amaz Yah worked: ⁵ and he seeks Elohim in the days of Zechar Yah, - who discerns in the seeings of Elohim: and in the days he seeks Yah Veh Elohim prospers him.

³⁶ And they dupe him with their mouth and lie to him with their tongue: ³⁷ for neither is their heart established with him, nor are they trustworthy in his covenant.

¹² Then they trusted his words; they sang his halal: ¹³ they hastened to forget his works; they awaited not his counsel:

¹³ Adonay says, Because as this people draws near with their mouth and with their lips honor me - and remove their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the misvah of men

¹⁶ And likewise, these are they spored on rocky: who, when they hear the word, straightway take it with cheer; ¹⁷ and have no root in themselves, and so endure temporarily: so when tribulation or persecution become because of the word, straightway they scandalize.
