¹ The psalm of David before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?

² The Lord is my strength and my praise, and he is become salvation to me: he is my God, and I will glorify him: the God of my father, and I will exalt him.

³ When his lamp shined over my head, and I walked by his light in darkness?

¹ Unto the end, for David, the servant of the Lord, who spoke to the Lord the words of this canticle, in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: and he said: ^(18:2) I will love thee, O Lord, my strength: ^{2 (18:3)} The Lord is my firmament, my refuge, and my deliverer. My God is my helper, and in him will I put my trust. My protector, and the horn of my salvation, and my support.

^{28 (18:29)} For thou lightest my lamp, O Lord: O my God, enlighten my darkness.

^{46 (18:47)} The Lord liveth, and blessed by my God, and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

^{14 (19:15)} And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in thy sight. O Lord, my helper and my Redeemer.

⁷ The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him. ⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed.

² For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?

¹ Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. ^(46:2) Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly. ^{2 (46:3)} Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea.

^{2 (56:3)} My enemies have trodden on me all the day long; for they are many that make war against me. ^{3 (56:4)} From the height of the day I shall fear: but I will trust in thee. ^{4 (56:5)} In God I will praise my words, in God I have put my trust: I will not fear what flesh can do against me.

⁵ O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

² Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

^{24 (45:25)} Therefore shall he say: In the Lord are my justices and empire: they shall come to him, and all that resist him shall be confounded.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to heaven, and look down to the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish like smoke, and the earth shall be worn away like a garment, and the inhabitants thereof shall perish in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my justice shall not fail. ⁷ Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their blasphemies. ⁸ For the worm shall eat them up as a garment: and the moth shall consume them as wool: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my justice from generation to generation.

¹ Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. ² For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. ³ And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising.

¹⁹ Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory. ²⁰ Thy sun shall go down no more, and thy moon shall not decrease: for the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God: for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation: and with the robe of justice he hath covered me, as a bridegroom decked with a crown, and as a bride adorned with her jewels.

⁷ But I will look towards the Lord, I will wait for God, my saviour: my God will hear me. ⁸ Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord is my light.

² But unto you that fear my name, the Sun of justice shall arise, and health in his wings: and you shall go forth, and shall leap like calves of the herd.

²⁶ And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up, he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.

³⁰ Because my eyes have seen thy salvation,

⁶ And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

¹ In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. ⁴ In him was life: and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shineth in darkness: and the darkness did not comprehend it.

⁹ That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.

¹² Again therefore, Jesus spoke to: them, saying: I am the light of the world. He that followeth me walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

⁹ And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee: for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

¹³ I can do all things in him who strengtheneth me.

⁶ So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me.

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sitteth upon the throne and to the Lamb.

²³ And the city hath no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it. For the glory of God hath enlightened it: and the Lamb is the lamp thereof.

⁵ And night shall be no more. And they shall not need the light of the lamp, nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God shall enlighten then. And they shall reign for ever and ever.
