²⁴ How great are thy works, O Lord ? thou hast made all things in wisdom: the earth is filled with thy riches.

¹¹ And he said: let the earth bring forth green herb, and such as may seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, which may have seed in itself upon the earth. And it was so done. ¹² And the earth brought forth the green herb, and such as yieldeth seed according to its kind, and the tree that beareth fruit, having seed each one according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

²⁴ And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature in its kind, cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth, according to their kinds. And it was so done. ²⁵ And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and cattle, and every thing that creepeth on the earth after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

³¹ And God saw all the things that he had made, and they were very good. And the evening and morning were the sixth day.

⁶ Thou thyself, O Lord alone, thou hast made heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and all the host thereof: the earth and all things that are in it: the seas and all that are therein: and thou givest life to all these things, and the host of heaven adoreth thee.

⁹ Who doth great things, and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:

³¹ Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him, and his wonderful works to the children of men.

⁵ Who made the heavens in understanding: for his mercy endureth for ever.

¹⁹ The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth, hath established the heavens by prudence. ²⁰ By his wisdom the depths have broken out, and the clouds grow thick with dew.

²² The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he made any thing from the beginning. ²³ I was set up from eternity, and of old, before the earth was made. ²⁴ The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived, neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out. ²⁵ The mountains, with their huge bulk, had not as yet been established: before the hills, I was brought forth: ²⁶ He had not yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world. ²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law, and compass, he enclosed the depths: ²⁸ When he established the sky above, and poised the fountains of waters: ²⁹ When he compassed the sea with its bounds, and set a law to the waters that they should not pass their limits: when he balanced the foundations of the earth; ³⁰ I was with him forming all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all times; ³¹ Playing in the world: and my delights were to be with the children of men. ³² Now, therefore, ye children, hear me: blessed are they that keep my ways. ³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. ³⁴ Blessed is the man that heareth me, and that watcheth daily at my gates, and waiteth at the posts of my doors. ³⁵ He that shall find me, shall find life, and shall have salvation from the Lord. ³⁶ But he that shall sin against me shall hurt his own soul. All that hate me love death.

¹² He that maketh the earth by his power, that prepareth the world by his wisdom, and stretcheth out the heavens by his knowledge.

³³ O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways!

⁸ Which hath superabounded in us, in all wisdom and prudence,

¹⁰ That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church,

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be highminded nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God (who giveth us abundantly all things to enjoy)
