⁴ Labour not to be rich: but set bounds to thy prudence.

⁵ Have confidence in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not upon thy own prudence.

⁷ Be not wise in thy own conceit: fear God, and depart from evil:

²⁷ He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house: but he that hateth bribes shall live. By mercy and faith sins are purged away: and by the fear of the Lord every one declineth from evil.

¹² Hast thou seen a man wise in his own conceit? there shall be more hope of a fool than of him.

²⁰ A faithful man shall be much praised: but he that maketh haste to be rich, shall not be innocent.

²¹ Woe to you that are wise in your own eyes, and prudent in your own conceits.

¹⁹ Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth: where the rust, and moth consume, and where thieves break through, and steal.

²⁷ Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth unto life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you. For him hath God, the Father, sealed.

²⁵ For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery (lest you should be wise in your own conceits) that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.

⁵ Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have. For he hath said: I will not leave thee: neither will I forsake thee.
