²⁵ The soul that blesseth, shall be made fat: and he that inebriateth, shall be inebriated also himself.

¹³ The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me, and I comforted the heart of the widow. ¹⁴ I was clad with justice: and I clothed myself with my judgment, as with a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was an eye to the blind, and a foot to the lame. ¹⁶ I was the father of the poor: and the cause which I knew not, I searched out most diligently. ¹⁷ I broke the jaws of the wicked man, and out of his teeth I took away the prey. ¹⁸ And I said: I shall die in my nest, and as a palm tree shall multiply my days.

¹⁶ If I have denied to the poor what they desired, and have made the eyes of the widow wait: ¹⁷ If I have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof: ¹⁸ (For from my infancy mercy grew up with me: and it came out with me from my mother's womb:) ¹⁹ If I have despised him that was perishing for want of clothing, and the poor man that had no covering: ²⁰ If his sides have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep:

²⁷ He that giveth to the poor shall not want: he that despiseth his intreaty, shall suffer indigence.

⁸ But the prince will devise such things as are worthy of a prince, and he shall stand above the rulers.

⁷ Deal thy bread to the hungry, and bring the needy and the harbourless into thy house: when thou shalt see one naked, cover him, and despise not thy own flesh. ⁸ Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy health shall speedily arise, and thy justice shall go before thy face, and the glory of the Lord shall gather thee up. ⁹ Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall hear: thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou wilt take away the chain out of the midst of thee, and cease to stretch out the finger, and to speak that which profiteth not. ¹⁰ When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry, and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul, then shall thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noonday. ¹¹ And the Lord will give thee rest continually, and will fill thy soul with brightness, and deliver thy bones, and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a fountain of water whose waters shall not fail.

⁷ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

³⁴ Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in:

⁶ Now this I say: He who soweth sparingly shall also reap sparingly: and he who soweth in blessings shall also reap blessings. ⁷ Every one as he hath determined in his heart, not with sadness or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound in you: that ye always, having all sufficiently in all things, may abound to every good work, ⁹ As it is written: He hath dispersed abroad, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever.
