¹⁰ And having gathered together the multitude before the rock, he said to them: Hear, ye rebellious and incredulous: Can we bring you forth water out of this rock?

⁸ They answered: We have dreamed a dream, and there is nobody to interpret it to us. And Joseph said to them: Doth not interpretation belong to God? Tell me what you have dreamed:

¹⁶ Joseph answered: Without me, God shall give Pharao a prosperous answer.

²² Shall then a multitude of sheep and oxen be killed, that it may suffice for their food? or shall the fishes of the sea be gathered together to fill them? ²³ And the Lord answered him: Is the hand of the Lord unable? Thou shalt presently see whether my word shall come to pass or no.

²⁴ But were always rebellious from the day that I began to know you.

³² They provoked him also at the waters of contradiction: and Moses was afflicted for their sakes: ³³ Because they exasperated his spirit. And he distinguished with his lips.

²⁸ But there is a God in heaven that revealeth mysteries, who hath shewn to thee, O king Nabuchodonosor, what is to come to pass in the latter times. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these: ²⁹ Thou, O king, didst begin to think in thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth mysteries shewed thee what shall come to pass. ³⁰ To me also this secret is revealed, not by any wisdom that I have more than all men alive: but that the interpretation might be made manifest to the king, and thou mightest know the thought of thy mind.

²² But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

⁵⁴ And when his disciples, James and John, had seen this, they said: Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them? ⁵⁵ And turning, he rebuked them, saying: you know not of what spirit you are.

¹² But Peter seeing, made answer to the people: Ye men of Israel, why wonder you at this? Or why look you upon us, as if by our strength or power we had made this man to walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just: and desired a murderer to be granted unto you. ¹⁵ But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead: of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And in the faith of his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, hath his name strengthened. And he leaped up and walked. ^{11 (14:10)} And when the multitudes had seen what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice in the Lycaonian tongue, saying: The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. ^{12 (14:11)} And they called Barnabas, Jupiter: but Paul, Mercury: because he was chief speaker. ^{13 (14:12)} The priest also of Jupiter that was before the city, bringing oxen and garlands before the gate, would have offered sacrifice with the people. ^{14 (14:13)} Which, when the apostles Barnabas and Paul had heard, rending their clothes, they leaped out among the people, crying, ^{15 (14:14)} And saying: Ye men, why do ye these things? We also are mortals, men like unto you, preaching to you to be converted from these vain things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all things that are in them:

³ Then Paul said to him: God shall strike thee, thou whited wall. For, sittest thou to judge me according to the law and, contrary to the law, commandest me to be struck? ⁴ And they that stood by said: Dost thou revile the high priest of God? ⁵ And Paul said: I knew not, brethren, that he is the high priest. For it is written: Thou shalt not speak evil of the prince of thy people.

¹⁷ I have therefore glory in Christ Jesus towards God. ¹⁸ For I dare not to speak of any of those things which Christ worketh not by me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, ¹⁹ By the virtue of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem round about, as far as unto Illyricum, I have replenished the gospel of Christ.

⁷ Therefore, neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth: but God that giveth the increase.

²⁶ Be angry: and sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your anger.

² For in many things we all offend. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man. He is able also with a bridle to lead about the whole body.
