⁵ Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk?

⁵ Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. ⁶ Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall be free: for waters are broken out in the desert, and streams in the wilderness.

⁹ Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed and walk? ¹⁰ But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy): ¹¹ I say to thee: Arise. Take up thy bed and go into thy house. ¹² And immediately he arose and, taking up his bed, went his way in the sight of all: so that all wondered and glorified God, saying: We never saw the like.

²³ Which is easier to say: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise and walk? ²⁴ But that you may know that the Son of man hath the power on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy), I say to thee to: Arise, take up thy bed and go into thy house. ²⁵ And immediately rising up before them, he took up the bed on which he lay: and he went away to his own house, glorifying God.

⁸ Jesus saith to him: Arise, take up thy bed and walk. ⁹ And immediately the man was made whole: and he took up his bed and walked. And it was the sabbath that day. ¹⁰ The Jews therefore said to him that was healed: It is the sabbath. It is not lawful for thee to take up thy bed. ¹¹ He answered them: He that made me whole, he said to me: Take up thy bed and walk. ¹² They asked him therefore: Who is that man who said to thee: Take up thy bed and walk? ¹³ But he who was healed knew not who it was: for Jesus went aside from the multitude standing in the place. ¹⁴ Afterwards, Jesus findeth him in the temple and saith to him: Behold thou art made whole: sin no more, lest some worse thing happen to thee.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them: My Father worketh until now; and I work. ¹⁸ Hereupon therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he did not only break the sabbath but also said God was his Father, making himself equal to God.

⁶ But Peter said: Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, I give thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk. ⁷ And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up: and forthwith his feet and soles received strength. ⁸ And he leaping up, stood and walked and went in with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God. ¹⁰ And they knew him, that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him. ¹¹ And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran to them, to the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

¹⁶ And in the faith of his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, hath his name strengthened. And the faith which is by him hath given this perfect soundness in the sight of you all.

⁹ If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he hath been made whole: ¹⁰ Be it known to you all and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him, this man standeth here before you, whole.

³⁴ And Peter said to him: Eneas, the Lord Jesus Christ healeth thee. Arise and make thy bed. And immediately he arose.
