⁴⁸ And said to them: Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me. For he that is the lesser among you all, he is the greater.

¹² Before destruction, the heart of a man is exalted: and before he be glorified, it is humbled.

⁴⁰ He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. ⁴¹ He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man. ⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you he shall not lose his reward.

⁵ And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me. ⁶ But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.

¹⁰ See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁴ Even so it is not the will of your Father, who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them: Amen I say to you, that you who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, you also shall sit on twelve seats judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹¹ He that is the greatest among you shall be your servant. ¹² And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled: and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

⁴⁰ And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

⁴⁵ Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen: I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.

⁶ Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation:
