¹⁰ Daleth. He is become to me as a bear lying in wait: as a lion in secret places.

¹⁶ And for pride thou wilt take me as a lioness, and returning, thou tormentest me wonderfully.

⁹ His eyes are upon the poor man: he lieth in wait, in secret, like a lion in his den. He lieth in ambush, that he may catch the poor man: so catch the poor, whilst he draweth him to him.

¹² They have taken me, as a lion prepared for the prey; and as a young lion dwelling in secret places.

¹³ I hoped till morning, as a lion so hath he broken all my bones: from morning even to night thou wilt make an end of me.

⁷ And I will be to them as a lioness, as a leopard in the way of the Assyrians. ⁸ I will meet them as a bear that is robbed of her whelps, and I will rend the inner parts of their liver: and I will devour them there as a lion, the beast of the field shall tear them.

¹⁸ Woe to them that desire the day of the Lord: to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. ¹⁹ As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and a bear should meet him: or enter into the house, and lean with his hand upon the wall, and a serpent should bite him. ²⁰ Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light: and obscurity, and no brightness in it?
