²³ And in that day you shall not ask me any thing. Amen, amen, I say to you: if you ask the Father any thing in my name, he will give it you.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will hear; as they are yet speaking, I will hear.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.

²² And all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing, you shall receive.

³⁶ Simon Peter saith to him: Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered: Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now: but thou shalt follow hereafter. ³⁷ Peter saith to him: Why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee.

⁵ Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest. And how can we know the way?

¹³ Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ If you shall ask me any thing in my name, that I will do.

²⁰ In that day you shall know that I am in my Father: and you in me, and I in you.

²² Judas saith to him, not the Iscariot: Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?

⁷ If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you will: and it shall be done unto you.

¹⁴ For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ Of whom all paternity in heaven and earth is named: ¹⁶ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened by his Spirit with might unto the inward man: ¹⁷ That Christ may dwell by faith in your hearts: that, being rooted and founded in charity, ¹⁸ You may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹ To know also the charity of Christ, which surpasseth all knowledge: that you may be filled unto all the fulness of God. ²⁰ Now to him who is able to do all things more abundantly than we desire or understand, according to the power that worketh in us:

⁵ For there is one God: and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.

¹⁴ Having therefore a great high priest that hath passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God: let us hold fast our confession. ¹⁵ For we have not a high priest who cannot have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin. ¹⁶ Let us go therefore with confidence to the throne of grace: that we may obtain mercy and find grace in seasonable aid.

²⁵ Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us. ²⁶ For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens:

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, a confidence in the entering into the holies by the blood of Christ: ²⁰ A new and living way which he hath dedicated for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh: ²¹ And a high priest over the house of God: ²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with clean water. ²³ Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that hath promised):

¹ My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. But if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the just.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence which we have towards him: That, whatsoever we shall ask according to his will, he heareth us. ¹⁵ And we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask: we know that we have the petitions which we request of him. ¹⁶ He that knoweth his brother to sin a sin which is not to death, let him ask: and life shall be given to him who sinneth not to death. There is a sin unto death. For that I say not that any man ask.
