⁴⁷ The chief priests, therefore, and the Pharisees gathered a council and said: What do we, for this man doth many miracles?

² The kings of the earth stood up, and the princes met together, against the Lord, and against his Christ. ³ Let us break their bonds asunder: and let us cast away their yoke from us. ⁴ He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh at them: and the Lord shall deride them.

²² But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

³ Then were gathered together the chief priests and ancients of the people, into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiphas:

¹ And when morning was come, all the chief priests and ancients of the people took counsel against Jesus, that they might put him to death. ² And they brought him bound and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

¹ Now the feast of the pasch and of the Azymes was after two days: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might by some wile lay hold on him and kill him.

²⁷ For of a truth there assembled together in this city against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, ²⁸ To do what thy hand and thy counsel decreed to be done.

²¹ Who having heard this, early in the morning, entered into the temple and taught. And the high priest coming, and they that were with him, called together the council and all the ancients of the children of Israel: and they sent to the prison to have them brought.

²⁴ Now when the officer of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were in doubt concerning them, what would come to pass.
