¹⁷ Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, behold thou hast made heaven and earth by thy great power, and thy stretched out arm: no word shall be hard to thee:

¹ In the beginning God created heaven, and earth. ² And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters. ³ And God said: Be light made. And light was made. ⁴ And God saw the light that it was good; and he divided the light from the darkness. ⁵ And he called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and morning one day. ⁶ And God said: Let there be a firmament made amidst the waters: and let it divide the waters from the waters. ⁷ And god made a firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament, from those that were above the firmament, and it was so. ⁸ And God called the firmament, Heaven; and the evening and morning were the second day. ⁹ God also said; Let the waters that are under the heaven, be gathered together into one place: and let the dry land appear. And it was so done. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. ¹¹ And he said: let the earth bring forth green herb, and such as may seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, which may have seed in itself upon the earth. And it was so done. ¹² And the earth brought forth the green herb, and such as yieldeth seed according to its kind, and the tree that beareth fruit, having seed each one according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. ¹³ And the evening and the morning were the third day. ¹⁴ And God said: Let there be lights made in the firmament of heaven, to divide the day and the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years: ¹⁵ To shine in the firmament of heaven, and to give light upon the earth, and it was so done. ¹⁶ And God made two great lights: a greater light to rule the day; and a lesser light to rule the night: and The stars. ¹⁷ And he set them in the firmament of heaven to shine upon the earth. ¹⁸ And to rule the day and the night, and to divide the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ And the evening and morning were the fourth day. ²⁰ God also said: let the waters bring forth the creeping creature having life, and the fowl that may fly over the earth under the firmament of heaven. ²¹ And God created the great whales, and every living and moving creature, which the waters brought forth, according to their kinds, and every winged fowl according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²² And he blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the waters of the sea: and let the birds be multiplied upon the earth. ²³ And the evening and morning were the fifth day. ²⁴ And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature in its kind, cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth, according to their kinds. And it was so done. ²⁵ And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and cattle, and every thing that creepeth on the earth after its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth. ²⁷ And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. ²⁸ And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. ²⁹ And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat: ³⁰ And to all beasts of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to all that move upon the earth, and wherein there is life, that they may have to feed upon. And it was so done. ³¹ And God saw all the things that he had made, and they were very good. And the evening and morning were the sixth day.

¹⁴ Is there any thing hard to God? According to appointment I will return to thee at this same time, life accompanying, and Sara shall have a son.

¹¹ For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.

¹⁵ And he prayed in his sight, saying: O Lord God of Israel, who sittest upon the cherubims, thou alone art the God of all the kings of the earth: thou madest heaven and earth:

⁶ Thou thyself, O Lord alone, thou hast made heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and all the host thereof: the earth and all things that are in it: the seas and all that are therein: and thou givest life to all these things, and the host of heaven adoreth thee.

² I know that thou canst do all things, and no thought is hid from thee.

⁵ Who made the heavens in understanding: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁶ Who established the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁷ Who made the great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁸ The sun to rule the day: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁹ The moon and the stars to rule the night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

⁵ Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God: ⁶ Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these things: who bringeth out their host by number, and calleth them all by their names: by the greatness of his might, and strength, and power, not one of them was missing. ²⁷ Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel: My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? ²⁸ Knowest thou not, or hast thou not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, who hath created the ends of the earth: he shall not faint, nor labour, neither is there any searching out of his wisdom.

⁵ Thus saith the Lord God that created the heavens, and stretched them out: that established the earth, and the things that spring out of it: that giveth breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that tread thereon.

²⁴ Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, and thy maker, from the womb: I am the Lord, that make all things, that alone stretch out the heavens, that established the earth, and there is none with me.

¹² I made the earth: and I created man upon it: my hand stretched forth the heavens, and I have commanded all their host.

⁹ Remember the former age, for I am God, and there is no God beside, neither is there the like to me: ¹⁰ Who shew from the beginning the things that shall be at last, and from ancient times the things that as yet are not done, saying: My counsel shall stand, and all my will shall be done:

¹² Hearken to me, O Jacob, and thou Israel whom I call: I am he, I am the first, and I am the last. ¹³ My hand also hath founded the earth, and my right hand hath measured the heavens: I shall call them, and they shall stand together.

⁶ And I said: Ah, ah, ah, Lord God: behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child.

¹⁰ And I said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, hast thou then deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying: You shall have peace: and behold the sword reacheth even to the soul?

¹¹ Thus then shall you say to them: The gods that have not made heaven and earth, let them perish from the earth, and from among those places that are under heaven. ¹² He that maketh the earth by his power, that prepareth the world by his wisdom, and stretcheth out the heavens by his knowledge.

¹³ And I said: Ah, ah, ah, O Lord God, the prophets say to them: You shall not see the sword, and there shall be no famine among you, but he will give you true peace in this place.

⁵ I made the earth, and the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power, and by my stretched out arm: and I have given it to whom it seemed good in my eyes.

²⁷ Behold I am the Lord the God of all flesh: shall any thing be hard for me?

¹⁵ He that made the earth by his power, that hath prepared the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

¹⁹ The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he that made all things he it is, and Israel is the sceptre of his inheritance: the Lord of hosts is his name.

⁸ And the slaughter being ended I was left; and I fell upon my face, and crying, I said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, wilt thou then destroy all the remnant of Israel, by pouring out thy fury upon Jerusalem?

¹³ And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pheltias the son of Banaias died: and I fell down upon my face, and I cried with a loud voice: and said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God: wilt thou make an end of all the remnant of Israel?

²² He revealeth deep and hidden things, and knoweth what is in darkness: and light is with him.

¹ The burden of the word of the Lord upon Israel. Thus saith the Lord, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundations of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man in him:

²⁶ And Jesus beholding, said to them: With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible.

³⁷ Because no word shall be impossible with God.

²⁷ He said to them: The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.

¹ In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.

⁴⁹ Heaven is my throne and the earth my footstool. What house will you build me (saith the Lord)? Or what is the place of my resting? ⁵⁰ Hath not my hand made all these things?

^{15 (14:14)} And saying: Ye men, why do ye these things? We also are mortals, men like unto you, preaching to you to be converted from these vain things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all things that are in them:

¹⁸ To the Lord was his own work known from the beginning of the world.

²⁴ God, who made the world and all things therein, he being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.

⁹ And to enlighten all men, that they may see what is the dispensation of the mystery which hath been hidden from eternity in God who created all things: ¹⁰ That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church, ¹¹ According to the eternal purpose which he made in Christ Jesus our Lord:

¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: ¹⁶ For in him were all things created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominations, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by him and in him.

² In these days, hath spoken to us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the world. ³ Who being the brightness of his glory and the figure of his substance and upholding all things by the word of his power, making purgation of sins, sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high:

¹⁰ And: Thou in the beginning, O Lord, didst found the earth: and the works of thy hands are the heavens. ¹¹ They shall perish: but thou shalt continue: and they shall all grow old as a garment. ¹² And as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shalt be changed. But thou art the selfsame: and thy years shall not fail.

¹¹ Thou art worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. Because thou hast created all things: and for thy will they were and have been created.
