¹³ For you, brethren, have been called unto liberty. Only make not liberty an occasion to the flesh: but by charity of the spirit serve one another.

¹ The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me: he hath sent me to preach to the meek, to heal the contrite of heart, and to preach a release to the captives, and deliverance to them that are shut up.

⁴³ But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater shall be your minister. ⁴⁴ And whosoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all. ⁴⁵ For the Son of man also is not come to be ministered unto: but to minister and to give his life a redemption for many.

³² And you shall know the truth: and the truth shall make you free. ³³ They answered him: We are the seed of Abraham: and we have never been slaves to any man. How sayest thou: You shall be free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them: Amen, amen, I say unto you that whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. ³⁵ Now the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the son abideth for ever. ³⁶ If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

¹⁴ If then I being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that as I have done to you, so you do also.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.

¹⁸ Being then freed from sin, we have been made servants of justice. ¹⁹ I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity: so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification. ²⁰ For when you were the servants of sin, you were free men to justice. ²¹ What fruit therefore had you then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death. ²² But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end life everlasting.

¹ Now, we that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ² Let every one of you Please his neighbour unto good, to edification.

⁹ But take heed lest perhaps this your liberty become a stumblingblock to the weak.

¹⁹ For whereas I was free as to all, I made myself the servant of all, that I might gain the more.

⁴ Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely, is not puffed up, ⁵ Is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil: ⁶ Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth: ⁷ Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Jesus Christ our Lord: and ourselves your servants through Jesus.

¹⁵ But I most gladly will spend and be spent myself for your souls: although loving you more, I be loved less.

⁵ That he might redeem them who were under the law: that we might receive the adoption of sons. ⁶ And because you are sons, God hath sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying: Abba, Father. ⁷ Therefore, now he is not a servant, but a son. And if a son, an heir also through God.

²² For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman and the other by a free woman.

¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in one word: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity,

² Bear ye one another's burdens: and so you shall fulfil the law of Christ.

²¹ Being subject one to another, in the fear of Christ.

³ Being mindful of the work of your faith and labour and charity: and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father.

¹⁵ And if a brother or sister be naked and want daily food: ¹⁶ And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit? ¹⁷ So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself.

¹⁶ As free and not as making liberty a cloak for malice, but as the servants of God.

¹⁹ Promising them liberty, whereas they themselves are the slaves of corruption. For by whom a man is overcome, of the same also he is the slave.

¹⁶ In this we have known the charity of God, because he hath laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ He that hath the substance of this world and shall see his brother in need and shall shut up his bowels from him: how doth the charity of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word nor in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ In this we know that we are of the truth and in his sight shall persuade our hearts.

⁴ For certain men are secretly entered in (who were written of long ago unto this judgment), ungodly men, turning the grace of our Lord God into riotousness and denying the only sovereign Ruler and our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ But these men blaspheme whatever things they know not: and what things soever they naturally know, like dumb beasts, in these they are corrupted. ¹¹ Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain: and after the error of Balaam they have for reward poured out themselves and have perished in the contradiction of Core. ¹² These are spots in their banquets, feasting together without fear, feeding themselves: clouds without water, which are carried about by winds: trees of the autumn, unfruitful, twice dead, plucked up by the roots:
