³⁵ Moreover the children of them that had been carried away that were come out of the captivity, offered holocausts to the God of Israel, twelve calves for all the people of Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve he goats for sin: all for a holocaust to the Lord.

¹ And the Lord called Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of the testimony, saying: ² Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: The man among you that shall offer to the Lord a sacrifice of the cattle, that is, offering victims of oxen and sheep: ³ If his offering be a holocaust, and of the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish, at the door of the testimony, to make the Lord favourable to him. ⁴ And he shall put his hand upon the head of the victim: and it shall be acceptable, and help to its expiation. ⁵ And he shall immolate the calf before the Lord: and the priests the sons of Aaron shall offer the blood thereof, pouring it round about the altar, which is before the door of the tabernacle. ⁶ And when they have flayed the victim, they shall cut the joints into pieces: ⁷ And shall put fire on the altar, having before laid in order a pile of wood.

²⁷ An ox of the herd, and a ram, and a lamb of a year old for a holocaust:

³¹ And Ezechias added, and said: You have filled your hands to the Lord, come and offer victims, and praises in the house of the Lord. And all the multitude offered victims, and praises, and holocausts with a devout mind. ³² And the number of the holocausts which the multitude offered, was seventy bullocks, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs.

¹ Now these are the children of the province, that went out of the captivity, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and who returned to Jerusalem and Juda, every man to his city.

¹⁷ And they offered at the dedication of the house of God, a hundred calves, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and for a sin offering for all Israel twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us by fire, as silver is tried. ¹¹ Thou hast brought us into a net, thou hast laid afflictions on our back: ¹² Thou hast set men over our heads. We have passed through fire and water, and thou hast brought us out into a refreshment. ¹³ I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, ¹⁴ Which my lips have uttered, And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. ¹⁵ I will offer up to thee holocausts full of marrow, with burnt offerings of rams: I will offer to thee bullocks with goats.

¹² What shall I render to the Lord, for all the things that he hath rendered to me? ¹³ I will take the chalice of salvation; and I will call upon the name of the Lord. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows to the Lord before all his people: ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ O Lord, for I am thy servant: I am thy servant, and the son of thy handmaid. Thou hast broken my bonds: ¹⁷ I will sacrifice to thee the sacrifice of praise, and I will call upon the name of the Lord. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to the Lord in the sight of all his people: ¹⁹ In the courts of the house of the Lord, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.

⁷⁴ That being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we may serve him without fear: ⁷⁵ In holiness and justice before him, all our days.
