⁴ And I saw, and behold a whirlwind came out of the north: and a great cloud, and a fire infolding it, and brightness was about it: and out of the midst thereof, that is, out of the midst of the fire, as it were the resemblance of amber:

¹⁶ And now the third day was come, and the morning appeared: and behold thunders began to be heard, and lightning to flash, and a very thick cloud to cover the mount, and the noise of the trumpet sounded exceeding loud; and the people that was in the camp, feared. ¹⁷ And when Moses had brought them forth to meet God, from the place of the camp, they stood at the bottom of the mount. ¹⁸ And all Mount Sinai was on a smoke: because the Lord was come down upon it in fire, and the smoke arose from it as out of a furnace: and all the mount was terrible.

¹⁶ And the glory of the Lord dwelt upon Sinai, covering it with a cloud six days: and the seventh day he called him out of the midst of the cloud. ¹⁷ And the sight of the glory of the Lord, was like a burning fire upon the top of the mount, in the eyes of the children of Israel.

¹¹ And you came to the foot of the mount, which burned even unto heaven: and there was darkness, and a cloud and obscurity in it. ¹² And the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire. You heard the voice of his words, but you saw not any form at all.

¹³ So when they all sounded together, both with trumpets, and voice, and cymbals, and organs, and with divers kind of musical instruments, and lifted up their voice on high: the sound was heard afar off, so that when they began to praise the Lord, and to say: Give glory to the Lord for he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever: the house of God was filled with a cloud.

¹ And when Solomon had made an end of his prayer, fire came down from heaven, and consumed the holocausts and the victims: and the majesty of the Lord filled the house. ² Neither could the priests enter into the temple of the Lord, because the majesty of the Lord had filled the temple of the Lord. ³ Moreover all the children of Israel saw the fire coming down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house: and falling down with their faces to the ground, upon the stone pavement, they adored and praised the Lord: because he is good, because his mercy endureth for ever.

³ God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him.

² Clouds and darkness are round about him: justice and judgment are the establishment of his throne. ³ A fire shall go before him, and shall burn his enemies round about.

³ Who coverest the higher rooms thereof with water. Who makest the clouds thy chariot: who walkest upon the wings of the winds. ⁴ Who makest thy angels spirits: and thy ministers a burning fire.

¹ The burden of Egypt. Behold the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud, and will enter into Egypt, and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.

¹ The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds come from the south, it cometh from the desert from a terrible land.

¹³ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time saying: What seest thou? And I said: I see a boiling caldron, and the face thereof from the face of the north. ¹⁴ And the Lord said to me: From the north shall an evil break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

⁶ Set up the standard in Sion. Strengthen yourselves, stay not: for I bring evil from the north, and great destruction.

¹ Strengthen yourselves, ye sons of Benjamin, in the midst of Jerusalem, and sound the trumpet in Thecua, and set up the standard over Bethacarem: for evil is seen out of the north, and a great destruction.

¹⁹ Behold the whirlwind of the Lord's indignation shall come forth, and a tempest shall break out and come upon the head of the wicked.

⁹ Behold I will send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all the nations that are round about it: and I will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

³² Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold evil shall go forth from nation to nation: and a great whirlwind shall go forth from the ends of the earth.

²⁷ And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about.

² And I saw, and behold a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins, and downward, fire: and from his loins, and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the appearance of amber.

² And he spoke to the man, that was clothed with linen, and said: Go in between the wheels that are under the cherubims and fill thy hand with the coals of fire that are between the cherubims, and pour them out upon the city. And he went in, in my sight: ³ And the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court. ⁴ And the glory of the Lord was lifted up from above the cherub to the threshold of the house: and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the Lord.

⁸ And there appeared in the cherubims the likeness of a man's hand under their wings. ⁹ And I saw, and behold there were four wheels by the cherubims: one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was to the sight like the chrysolite stone:

³ The Lord is patient, and great in power, and will not cleanse and acquit the guilty. The Lord's ways are in a tempest, and a whirlwind, and clouds are the dust of his feet. ⁴ He rebuketh the sea and drieth it up: and bringeth all the rivers to be a desert. Basan languisheth and Carmel: and the flower of Libanus fadeth away. ⁵ The mountains tremble at him, and the hills are made desolate: and the earth hath quaked at his presence, and the world, and all that dwell therein. ⁶ Who can stand before the face of his indignation? and who shall resist in the fierceness of his anger? his indignation is poured out like fire: and the rocks are melted by him.

⁸ Their horses are lighter than leopards, and swifter than evening wolves; and their horsemen shall be spread abroad: for their horsemen shall come from afar, they shall fly as an eagle that maketh haste to eat. ⁹ They shall all come to the prey, their face is like a burning wind: and they shall gather together captives as the sand.

³ God will come from the south, and the holy one from mount Pharan: His glory covered the heavens, and the earth is full of his praise. ⁴ His brightness shall be as the light: horns are in his hands: There is his strength hid: ⁵ Death shall go before his face. And the devil shall go forth before his feet.

²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁵ And his feet like unto fine brass, as in a burning furnace. And his voice as the sound of many waters.
