⁵ And the priests the sons of Levi shall come, whom the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister to him, and to bless in his name, and that by their word every matter should be decided, and whatsoever is clean or unclean should be judged.

²² And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ²³ Say to Aaron and his sons: Thus shall you bless the children of Israel, and you shall say to them: ²⁴ The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. ²⁵ The Lord shew his face to thee, and have mercy on thee. ²⁶ The Lord turn his countenance to thee, and give thee peace. ²⁷ And they shall invoke my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

⁸ At that time he separated the tribe of Levi, to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to stand before him in the ministry, and to bless in his name until this present day.

⁸ If thou perceive that there be among you a hard and doubtful matter in judgment between blood and blood, cause and cause, leprosy and leprosy: and thou see that the words of the judges within thy gates do vary: arise, and go up to the place, which the Lord thy God shall choose. ⁹ And thou shalt come to the priests of the Levitical race, and to the judge, that shall be at that time: and thou shalt ask of them, and they shall shew thee the truth of the judgment. ¹⁰ And thou shalt do whatsoever they shall say, that preside in the place, which the Lord shall choose, and what they shall teach thee, ¹¹ According to his law; and thou shalt follow their sentence: neither shalt thou decline to the right hand nor to the left hand. ¹² But he that will be proud, and refuse to obey the commandment of the priest, who ministereth at that time to the Lord thy God, and the decree of the judge, that man shall die, and thou shalt take away the evil from Israel:

⁵ For the Lord thy God hath chosen him of all thy tribes, to stand and to minister to the name of the Lord, him and his sons for ever.

¹⁷ Both of them, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord in the sight of the priests and the judges that shall be in those days.

¹³ The sons of Amram, Aaron, and Moses. And Aaron was separated to minister in the holy of holies, he and his sons for ever, and to burn incense before the Lord, according to his ceremonies, and to bless his name for ever.

⁷ For the lips of the priests shall keep knowledge, and they shall seek the law at his mouth: because he is the angel of the Lord of hosts.
