⁴ For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory which overcameth the world: Our faith.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world.

³⁵ Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? Or distress? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or danger? Or persecution? Or the sword? ³⁶ (As it is written: For thy sake, we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.) ³⁷ But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹³ I write unto you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. ¹⁴ I write unto you, babes, because you have known the Father. ⁵ Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
