²⁵ And the Lord magnified Solomon over all Israel: and gave him the glory of a reign, such as no king of Israel had before him.

⁷ And the Lord said to Josue: This day will I begin to exalt thee before Israel: that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I am with thee also.

¹⁴ In that day the Lord magnified Josue in the sight of all Israel, that they should fear him, as they had feared Moses, while he lived.

¹³ Yea, and the things also which thou didst not ask, I have given thee; to wit, riches and glory: so that no one hath been like thee among the kings in all days heretofore.

¹ And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him to a high degree.

¹² Wisdom and knowledge are granted to thee: and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and glory, so that none of the kings before thee, nor after thee, shall be like thee.

¹⁷ What is a man, that thou shouldst magnify him or why dost thou set thy heart upon him?

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour: that, through the grace of God he might taste death for all.
