¹ Oh that thou wert as my brother, That sucked the breasts of my mother! Should I find thee without, I would kiss thee; And they would not despise me.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his anger burn but a little. Blessed are all who have their trust in him.

¹⁰ Hearken, daughter, and see, and incline thine ear; and forget thine own people and thy father`s house: ¹¹ And the king will desire thy beauty; for he is thy Lord, and worship thou him.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

¹⁶ When Jehovah shall build up Zion, he will appear in his glory. ¹⁷ He will regard the prayer of the destitute one, and not despise their prayer.

² Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; For thy love is better than wine.

¹⁴ Therefore will the Lord himself give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son, and call his name Immanuel.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty ?God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.

¹⁴ And the children of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee The city of Jehovah, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹¹ because ye shall suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; because ye shall drink out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. ¹² For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing torrent; and ye shall suck, ye shall be carried upon the side, and be dandled upon the knees.

⁷ and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, thy King cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly and rIding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

¹ Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord whom ye seek will suddenly come to his temple, and the Angel of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁶ But blessed are *your* eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear; ¹⁷ for verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous [men] have desired to see the things which ye behold and did not see [them], and to hear the things which ye hear and did not hear [them].

⁴² And a poor widow came and cast in two mites, which is a farthing. ⁴³ And having called his disciples to [him] he said to them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow has cast in more than all who have cast into the treasury: ⁴⁴ for all have cast in of that which they had in abundance, but she of her destitution has cast in all that she had, the whole of her living.

⁶ But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do ye trouble her? she has wrought a good work as to me; ⁷ for ye have the poor always with you, and whenever ye would ye can do them good; but me ye have not always. ⁸ What *she* could she has done. She has beforehand anointed my body for the burial. ⁹ And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, what this [woman] has done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.

²⁶ And it was divinely communicated to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he should see [the] Lord`s Christ. ²⁷ And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and as the parents brought in the child Jesus that they might do for him according to the custom of the law, ²⁸ *he* received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, ²⁹ Lord, now thou lettest thy bondman go, according to thy word, in peace; ³⁰ for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, ³¹ which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples; ³² a light for revelation of [the] Gentiles and [the] glory of thy people Israel.

³⁸ and she coming up the same hour gave praise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who waited for redemption in Jerusalem.

⁴⁵ Thou gavest me not a kiss, but *she* from the time I came in has not ceased kissing my feet. ⁴⁶ My head with oil thou didst not anoint, but *she* has anointed my feet with myrrh. ⁴⁷ For which cause I say to thee, Her many sins are forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loves little. ⁴⁸ And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.

²⁶ For whosoever shall have been ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he shall come in his glory, and [in that] of the Father, and of the holy angels.

¹⁶ He that hears you hears me; and he that rejects you rejects me; and he that rejects me rejects him that sent me.

²³ And having turned to the disciples privately he said, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see. ²⁴ For I say to you that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye behold, and did not see [them]; and to hear the things which ye hear, and did not hear [them].

⁸ But I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, the Son of man will confess him also before the angels of God;

⁹ And he spoke also to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and made nothing of all the rest [of men], this parable:

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we have contemplated his glory, a glory as of an only-begotten with a father), full of grace and truth;

¹³ And no one has gone up into heaven, save he who came down out of heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven.

⁴⁶ The officers answered, Never man spoke thus, as this man [speaks]. ⁴⁷ The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also deceived? ⁴⁸ Has any one of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? ⁴⁹ But this crowd, which does not know the law, are accursed. ⁵⁰ Nicodemus says to them (being one of themselves), ⁵¹ Does our law judge a man before it have first heard from himself, and know what he does? ⁵² They answered and said to him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and look, that no prophet arises out of Galilee.

⁴² Jesus said to them, If God were your father ye would have loved me, for I came forth from God and am come [from him]; for neither am I come of myself, but *he* has sent me.

²⁵ He answered therefore, If he is sinful I know not. One thing I know, that, being blind [before], now I see. ²⁶ And they said to him again, What did he do to thee? how opened he thine eyes? ²⁷ He answered them, I told you already and ye did not hear: why do ye desire to hear again? do ye also wish to become his disciples? ²⁸ They railed at him, and said, Thou art his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses. ²⁹ We know that God spoke to Moses; but [as to] this [man], we know not whence he is. ³⁰ The man answered and said to them, Now in this is a wonderful thing, that *ye* do not know whence he is, and he has opened mine eyes. ³¹ [But] we know that God does not hear sinners; but if any one be God-fearing and do his will, him he hears. ³² Since time was, it has not been heard that any one opened the eyes of one born blind. ³³ If this [man] were not of God he would be able to do nothing. ³⁴ They answered and said to him, Thou hast been wholly born in sins, and thou teachest us? And they cast him out. ³⁵ Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him, he said to him, Thou, dost thou believe on the Son of God? ³⁶ He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him? ³⁷ And Jesus said to him, Thou hast both seen him, and he that speaks with thee is he. ³⁸ And he said, I believe, Lord: and he did him homage.

³ [Jesus,] knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came out from God and was going to God,

²⁸ I came out from the Father and have come into the world; again, I leave the world and go to the Father.

²⁸ and the ignoble things of the world, and the despised, has God chosen, [and] things that are not, that he may annul the things that are;

²⁶ but the Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother.

¹⁴ But far be it from me to boast save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom [the] world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

³ For *we* are the circumcision, who worship by [the] Spirit of God, and boast in Christ Jesus, and do not trust in flesh.

⁷ but what things were gain to me these I counted, on account of Christ, loss. ⁸ But surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ;

¹⁶ And confessedly the mystery of piety is great. God has been manifested in flesh, has been justified in [the] Spirit, has appeared to angels, has been preached among [the] nations, has been believed on in [the] world, has been received up in glory.

⁹ but we see Jesus, who [was] made some little inferior to angels on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; so that by the grace of God he should taste death for every thing. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make perfect the leader of their salvation through sufferings. ¹¹ For both he that sanctifies and those sanctified [are] all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying, I will declare thy name to my brethren; in [the] midst of [the] assembly will I sing thy praises. ¹³ And again, I will trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children which God has given me. ¹⁴ Since therefore the children partake of blood and flesh, he also, in like manner, took part in the same, that through death he might annul him who has the might of death, that is, the devil;

²⁶ since he had [then] been obliged often to suffer from the foundation of the world. But now once in the consummation of the ages he has been manifested for [the] putting away of sin by his sacrifice. ²⁷ And forasmuch as it is the portion of men once to die, and after this judgment; ²⁸ thus the Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear to those that look for him the second time without sin for salvation.
