¹⁰ In whose hands are evil devices, and their right hand is full of bribes.

⁸ And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth those whose eyes are open, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

¹⁹ Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a bribe; for the bribe blindeth the eyes of the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

³ And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted justice.

¹⁴ Thou hast seen [it], for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

² For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may in darkness shoot at the upright in heart.

⁴ He deviseth wickedness up on his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good: he abhorreth not evil.

² Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.

⁹ Swallow [them] up, Lord; divide their tongue: for I have seen violence and strife in the city. ¹⁰ Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof; and iniquity and mischief are in the midst of it. ¹¹ Perversities are in the midst thereof; and oppression and deceit depart not from its streets.

¹⁶ for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.

¹⁶ For they sleep not except they have done mischief, and their sleep is taken away unless they have caused [some] to fall.

¹⁵ -- He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking hold of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil:

¹² In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast overreached thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah. ¹³ And behold, I have smitten mine hand at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and at thy bloodshed which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹² For I know how manifold are your transgressions and your sins mighty: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside [the right of] the needy in the gate.

¹ Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. ² And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away; and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. ³ Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye walk haughtily: for it is an evil time.

³ Both hands are for evil, to do it well. The prince asketh, and the judge [is there] for a reward; and the great [man] uttereth his soul`s greed: and [together] they combine it.

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;

¹² And when it was day, the Jews, having banded together, put themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul.
