²² How long, simple ones, will ye love simpleness, and scorners take pleasure in their scorning, and the foolish hate knowledge?

³ And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah the God of the Hebrews: How long dost thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

²⁸ And Jehovah said to Moses, How long do ye refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?

²⁷ How long [shall I bear] with this evil assembly, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

⁷ What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,

¹ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;

⁸ Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁴ to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge: fools despise wisdom and instruction.

²⁹ Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of Jehovah;

³⁴ He indeed scorneth the scorners; but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

¹² and thou say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof!

⁹ How long, sluggard, wilt thou lie down? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

⁷ and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the sons, a young man void of understanding,

⁵ O ye simple, understand prudence; and ye foolish, understand sense.

⁴ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. To him that is void of understanding, she saith, ⁵ Come, eat ye of my bread, and drink of the wine that I have mingled. ⁶ Forsake follies and live, and go in the way of intelligence.

¹⁶ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. And to him that is void of understanding she saith, ¹⁷ Stolen waters are sweet, and the bread of secrecy is pleasant. ¹⁸ But he knoweth not that the dead are there; [that] her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

⁶ A scorner seeketh wisdom, and there is none [for him]; but knowledge is easy unto the intelligent.

¹² A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him; he will not go unto the wise.

²⁹ Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of the foolish.

¹¹ When the scorner is punished, the simple becometh wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

¹³ But go and learn what [that] is -- I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous [men] but sinners.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls; ³⁰ for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.

³⁷ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [the city] that kills the prophets and stones those that are sent unto her, how often would I have gathered thy children as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

⁴² saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, even at least in this thy day, the things that are for thy peace: but now they are hid from thine eyes;

²⁰ For every one that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light that his works may not be shewn as they are;

³ knowing this first, that there shall come at [the] close of the days mockers with mocking, walking according to their own lusts,

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come; he that will, let him take [the] water of life freely.
