⁹ and that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which [would be] on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which [is] of God through faith,

²³ And every living being was destroyed that was on the ground, both man, and cattle, and creeping things, and fowl of the heavens; and they were destroyed from the earth. And Noah alone remained, and what was with him in the ark.

³ Thou shalt prepare thee the way, and divide the territory of thy land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, so that every slayer may flee thither. ⁴ And this is the case of the slayer who shall flee thither that he may live: he that smiteth his neighbour unwittingly, whom he hated not previously;

²⁶ Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them! And all the people shall say, Amen.

⁴⁶ If they have sinned against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and give them up to the enemy, and they have carried them away captives unto the enemy`s land, far or near;

²⁵ But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit [done] to him, for his heart was lifted up; and there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

³¹ However in [the matter of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all [that was] in his heart.

²⁸ I am afraid of all my sorrows; I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent. ²⁹ Be it that I am wicked, why then do I labour in vain? ³⁰ If I washed myself with snow-water, and cleansed my hands in purity, ³¹ Then wouldest thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes would abhor me.

¹⁴ If I sinned, thou wouldest mark me, and thou wouldest not acquit me of mine iniquity. ¹⁵ If I were wicked, woe unto me! and righteous, I will not lift up my head, being [so] full of shame, and beholding mine affliction; --

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be pure? and he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not pure in his sight: ¹⁶ How much less the abominable and corrupt, -- man, that drinketh unrighteousness like water!

⁵ I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee: ⁶ Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.

³ They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

¹² Who understandeth [his] errors? Purify me from secret [faults].

¹⁵ My mouth shall declare thy righteousness, [and] thy salvation all the day: for I know not the numbers [thereof]. ¹⁶ I will go in the might of the Lord Jehovah; I will recall thy righteousness, thine alone.

³ If thou, Jah, shouldest mark iniquities, Lord, who shall stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

² And enter not into judgment with thy servant; for in thy sight no man living shall be justified.

²⁰ Surely there is not a righteous man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.

⁵ And I said, Woe unto me! for I am undone; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

²⁴ Only in Jehovah, shall one say, have I righteousness and strength. To him shall [men] come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. ²⁵ In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

¹³ I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not delay; and I will give salvation in Zion, [and] unto Israel my glory.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all.

¹¹ He shall see of [the fruit of] the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant instruct many in righteousness; and *he* shall bear their iniquities.

⁵ Thou meetest him that rejoiceth to do righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: (behold, thou wast wroth, and we have sinned:) in those is perpetuity, and we shall be saved. ⁶ And we are all become as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have carried us away;

⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell in safety; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness.

¹⁶ In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety. And this is the name wherewith she shall be called: Jehovah our Righteousness.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are apportioned out upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to close the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make expiation for iniquity, and to bring in the righteousness of the ages, and to seal the vision and prophet, and to anoint the holy of holies.

¹³ But go and learn what [that] is -- I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous [men] but sinners.

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting him, and saying, Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit life eternal? ²⁶ And he said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? ²⁷ But he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thine understanding; and thy neighbour as thyself. ²⁸ And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live. ²⁹ But he, desirous of justifying himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

⁸ And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ⁹ of sin, because they do not believe on me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; ¹¹ of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

¹⁷ for righteousness of God is revealed therein, on the principle of faith, to faith: according as it is written, But the just shall live by faith.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the things the law says, it speaks to those under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. ²⁰ Wherefore by works of law no flesh shall be justified before him; for by law [is] knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now without law righteousness of God is manifested, borne witness to by the law and the prophets; ²² righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ towards all, and upon all those who believe: for there is no difference;

⁵ but to him who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness. ⁶ Even as David also declares the blessedness of the man to whom God reckons righteousness without works:

¹³ For [it was] not by law that the promise was to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of [the] world, but by righteousness of faith. ¹⁴ For if they which [are] of law be heirs, faith is made vain, and the promise made of no effect. ¹⁵ For law works wrath; but where no law is neither [is there] transgression.

²¹ in order that, even as sin has reigned in [the power of] death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh the passions of sins, which [were] by the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit to death; ⁶ but now we are clear from the law, having died in that in which we were held, so that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter. ⁷ What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? Far be the thought. But I had not known sin, unless by law: for I had not had conscience also of lust unless the law had said, Thou shalt not lust; ⁸ but sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, wrought in me every lust; for without law sin [was] dead. ⁹ But *I* was alive without law once; but the commandment having come, sin revived, but *I* died. ¹⁰ And the commandment, which [was] for life, was found, [as] to me, itself [to be] unto death: ¹¹ for sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me]. ¹² So that the law indeed [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. ¹³ Did then that which is good become death to me? Far be the thought. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death to me by that which is good; in order that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

¹ [There is] then now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, having sent his own Son, in likeness of flesh of sin, and for sin, has condemned sin in the flesh,

³⁰ What then shall we say? That [they of the] nations, who did not follow after righteousness, have attained righteousness, but [the] righteousness that is on the principle of faith. ³¹ But Israel, pursuing after a law of righteousness, has not attained to [that] law. ³² Wherefore? Because [it was] not on the principle of faith, but as of works. They have stumbled at the stumblingstone,

¹ Brethren, the delight of my own heart and my supplication which [I address] to God for them is for salvation. ² For I bear them witness that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they, being ignorant of God`s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own [righteousness], have not submitted to the righteousness of God. ⁴ For Christ is [the] end of law for righteousness to every one that believes. ⁵ For Moses lays down in writing the righteousness which is of the law, The man who has practised those things shall live by them. ⁶ But the righteousness of faith speaks thus: Do not say in thine heart, Who shall ascend to the heavens? that is, to bring Christ down;

¹⁰ For with [the] heart is believed to righteousness; and with [the] mouth confession made to salvation.

⁷ Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow-captives, who are of note among the apostles; who were also in Christ before me.

³⁰ But of him are *ye* in Christ Jesus, who has been made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and holiness, and redemption;

¹⁷ So if any one [be] in Christ, [there is] a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold all things have become new:

²¹ Him who knew not sin he has made sin for us, that *we* might become God`s righteousness in him.

¹⁶ but knowing that a man is not justified on the principle of works of law [nor] but by the faith of Jesus Christ, *we* also have believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified on the principle of [the] faith of Christ; and not of works of law; because on the principle of works of law no flesh shall be justified.

¹⁰ For as many as are on the principle of works of law are under curse. For it is written, Cursed is every one who does not continue in all things which [are] written in the book of the law to do them; ¹¹ but that by law no one is justified with God [is] evident, because The just shall live on the principle of faith; ¹² but the law is not on the principle of faith; but, He that shall have done these things shall live by them. ¹³ Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed [is] every one hanged upon a tree,)

²¹ [Is] then the law against the promises of God? Far be the thought. For if a law had been given able to quicken, then indeed righteousness were on the principle of law; ²² but the scripture has shut up all things under sin, that the promise, on the principle of faith of Jesus Christ, should be given to those that believe.

⁶ as to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which [is] in [the] law, found blameless;

⁹ who has saved us, and has called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to [his] own purpose and grace, which [was] given to us in Christ Jesus before [the] ages of time,

⁵ not on the principle of works which [have been done] in righteousness which *we* had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us through [the] washing of regeneration and renewal of [the] Holy Spirit,

¹⁸ that by two unchangeable things, in which [it was] impossible that God should lie, we might have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us,

⁹ But if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole law and shall offend in one [point], he has come under the guilt of [breaking] all. ¹¹ For he who said, Thou shalt not commit adultery, said also, Thou shalt not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become transgressor of [the] law.

² For we all often offend. If any one offend not in word, *he* [is] a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body too.

¹⁹ in which also going he preached to the spirits [which are] in prison, ²⁰ heretofore disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in [the] days of Noah while the ark was preparing, into which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

¹ Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us [our] sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

⁴ Every one that practises sin practises also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
