²⁸ Come to me, all ye who labour and are burdened, and *I* will give you rest.

¹⁷ And to Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed be the ground on thy account; with toil shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life; ¹⁸ and thorns and thistles shall it yield thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field. ¹⁹ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, until thou return to the ground: for out of it wast thou taken. For dust thou art; and unto dust shalt thou return.

⁷ For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.

¹ Man, born of woman, is of few days, and full of trouble.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

⁴ For mine iniquities are gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

⁷ For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled. ⁸ Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance. ⁹ For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought. ¹⁰ The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

¹³ That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

⁷ Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

⁸ All things are full of toil; none can express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

¹⁴ I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and pursuit of the wind.

²² For what will man have of all his labour and of the striving of his heart, wherewith he hath wearied himself under the sun? ²³ For all his days are sorrows, and his travail vexation: even in the night his heart taketh no rest. This also is vanity.

⁸ There is one [alone] and without a second; also he hath neither son nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour, neither is his eye satisfied with riches, and [he saith not], For whom then am I labouring, and depriving my soul of good? This also is vanity and a grievous occupation.

⁴ Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that corrupt themselves! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they are turned away backward.

¹⁰ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, standing as a banner of the peoples: the nations shall seek it; and his resting-place shall be glory.

¹² to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.

²² Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I [am] ?God, and there is none else. ²³ I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ Only in Jehovah, shall one say, have I righteousness and strength. To him shall [men] come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. ²⁵ In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

¹⁷ Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I [am] Jehovah thy God, who teacheth thee for [thy] profit, who leadeth thee in the way that thou shouldest go. ¹⁸ Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then would thy peace have been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea;

² For he shall grow up before him as a tender sapling, and as a root out of dry ground: he hath no form nor lordliness, and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. ³ He is despised and left alone of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief, and like one from whom [men] hide their faces; -- despised, and we esteemed him not.

¹ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters; and he that hath no money, come ye, buy, and eat: yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price! ² Wherefore do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that which is] good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. ³ Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of David.

³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, that beauty should be given unto them instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

² Even all these things hath my hand made, and all these things have been, saith Jehovah. But to this man will I look: to the afflicted and contrite in spirit, and who trembleth at my word.

¹⁶ Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the ancient paths, which is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein].

⁶ Wherewith shall I come before Jehovah, bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves of a year old? ⁷ Will Jehovah take pleasure in thousands of rams, in ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? ⁸ He hath shewn thee, O man, what is good: and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls;

⁴ but bind burdens heavy and hard to bear, and lay them on the shoulders of men, but will not move them with their finger.

³⁷ All that the Father gives me shall come to me, and him that comes to me I will not at all cast out.

³⁷ In the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink.

¹⁰ Now therefore why tempt ye God, by putting a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man: ²³ but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death? ²⁵ I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God`s law; but with the flesh sin`s law.

¹ Christ has set us free in freedom; stand fast therefore, and be not held again in a yoke of bondage.

⁷ and to you that are troubled repose with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with [the] angels of his power,

¹ Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you might seem to have failed [of it].

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come; he that will, let him take [the] water of life freely.
