³² But it was right to make merry and rejoice, because this thy brother was dead and has come to life again, and was lost and has been found.

⁸ Make me to hear gladness and joy; [that] the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

¹⁰ And the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come to Zion with singing; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

⁹ Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? intelligent, and he shall know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors shall fall therein.

¹⁰ And Jehovah said, Thou hast pity on the gourd, for which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: ¹¹ and I, should not I have pity on Nineveh, the great city, wherein are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

³⁴ The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and ye say, Behold an eater and wine-drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners;

²⁴ for this my son was dead and has come to life, was lost and has been found. And they began to make merry.

⁴ Far be the thought: but let God be true, and every man false; according as it is written, So that thou shouldest be justified in thy words, and shouldest overcome when thou art in judgment.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the things the law says, it speaks to those under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God.

⁹ and that the nations should glorify God for mercy; according as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among [the] nations, and will sing to thy name. ¹⁰ And again he says, Rejoice, nations, with his people. ¹¹ And again, Praise the Lord, all [ye] nations, and let all the peoples laud him. ¹² And again, Esaias says, There shall be the root of Jesse, and one that arises, to rule over [the] nations: in him shall [the] nations hope. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that ye should abound in hope by [the] power of [the] Holy Spirit.

¹ and *you*, being dead in your offences and sins -- ² in which ye once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience: ³ among whom *we* also all once had our conversation in the lusts of our flesh, doing what the flesh and the thoughts willed to do, and were children, by nature, of wrath, even as the rest: ⁴ but God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love wherewith he loved us, ⁵ (we too being dead in offences,) has quickened us with the Christ, (ye are saved by grace,) ⁶ and has raised [us] up together, and has made [us] sit down together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, ⁷ that he might display in the coming ages the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ye are saved by grace, through faith; and this not of yourselves; it is God`s gift: ⁹ not on the principle of works, that no one might boast. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has before prepared that we should walk in them.
