³⁰ (Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse;)

⁴ -- If thou meet thine enemy`s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt certainly bring it back to him. ⁵ If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under its burden, beware of leaving [it] to him: thou shalt certainly loosen [it] with him.

² Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in the heavens, and thou upon earth; therefore let thy words be few.

⁶ Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an inadvertence. Wherefore should God be wroth at thy voice, and destroy the work of thy hands?

²² But *I* say unto you, that every one that is lightly angry with his brother shall be subject to the judgment; but whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be subject to [be called before] the sanhedrim; but whosoever shall say, Fool, shall be subject to the penalty of the hell of fire.

⁴³ Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy. ⁴⁴ But *I* say unto you, Love your enemies, [bless those who curse you,] do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who [insult you and] persecute you,

³⁶ But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:

¹⁴ Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.

⁶ and the tongue [is] fire, the world of unrighteousness; the tongue is set in our members, the defiler of the whole body, and which sets fire to the course of nature, and is set on fire of hell.

⁹ Therewith bless we the Lord and Father, and therewith curse we men made after [the] likeness of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth goes forth blessing and cursing. It is not right, my brethren, that these things should be thus.

²² who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; ²³ who, [when] reviled, reviled not again; [when] suffering, threatened not; but gave [himself] over into the hands of him who judges righteously;

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing [others], because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
