³ When his lamp shone over my head, [and] by his light I walked through darkness;

¹⁷ And life shall arise brighter than noonday; though thou be enshrouded in darkness, thou shalt be as the morning,

⁶ The light shall become dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.

¹⁷ How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, and cometh their calamity upon them? Doth he distribute sorrows [to them] in his anger?

²⁸ And thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.

⁶ Many say, Who shall cause us to see good? Lift up upon us the light of thy countenance, O Jehovah.

²⁸ For it is thou that makest my lamp to shine: Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

¹ {[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

¹¹ For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

⁹ The light of the righteous rejoiceth; but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

²⁰ Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.

²⁰ for there shall be no future to the evil [man]; the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

⁴ And he shall judge among the nations, and shall reprove many peoples; and they shall forge their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

¹² Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁴⁶ I am come into the world [as] light, that every one that believes on me may not abide in darkness;

⁸ for ye were once darkness, but now light in [the] Lord; walk as children of light,

¹⁴ Wherefore he says, Wake up, [thou] that sleepest, and arise up from among the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.
