¹¹ Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and hath settled on his lees; he hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste hath remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

¹⁹ ?God will hear, and afflict them: he that is seated of old, (Selah) ... because there is no change in them, and they fear not God.

⁴ For they have no pangs in their death, and their body is well nourished; ⁵ They have not the hardships of mankind, neither are they plagued like [other] men: ⁶ Therefore pride encompasseth them as a neck-chain, violence covereth them [as] a garment; ⁷ Their eyes stand out from fatness, they exceed the imaginations of their heart: ⁸ They mock and speak wickedly of oppression, they speak loftily:

⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

³² For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of the foolish shall cause them to perish.

⁶ We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, -- [he is] very proud, -- of his pride, and his arrogance, and his wrath: his pratings are vain.

³ The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled; for Jehovah hath spoken this word.

⁶ And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

²⁹ We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, -- [he is] very proud; -- his loftiness, and his arrogance, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

³⁴ Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel; he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.

⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fulness of bread, and careless ease was in her and in her daughters, but she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. ⁵⁰ And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me, and I took them away when I saw [it].

² For Jehovah hath brought again the glory of Jacob, as the glory of Israel; for the wasters have wasted them, and marred their vine-branches.

¹⁰ She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and writhing pain is in all loins, and all their faces grow pale.

¹² And it shall come to pass at that time, [that] I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.

¹⁵ and I am wroth exceedingly with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little wroth, and they helped forward the affliction.
