⁴ And I will raise up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, saith Jehovah.

⁴⁹ and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.

⁷⁰ And he chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: ⁷¹ From following the suckling-ewes, he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. ⁷² And he fed them according to the integrity of his heart, and led them by the skilfulness of his hands.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to acquire the remnant of his people which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

¹⁴ Return, backsliding children, saith Jehovah; for I am a husband unto you, and I will take you, one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion. ¹⁵ And I will give you shepherds according to my heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

¹⁰ And thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and at ease, and none shall make [him] afraid.

¹⁰ Hear the word of Jehovah, ye nations, and declare [it] to the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd his flock.

²⁶ [then] will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so as not to take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will turn their captivity, and will have mercy on them.

²⁷ But thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, neither be dismayed, Israel: for behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make [him] afraid. ²⁸ Fear thou not, my servant Jacob, saith Jehovah: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; but I will correct thee with judgment, and I will not hold thee altogether guiltless.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David: he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I Jehovah will be their God, and my servant David a prince in their midst: I Jehovah have spoken [it]. ²⁵ And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell in safety in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. ²⁶ And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season: there shall be showers of blessing. ²⁷ And the tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase; and they shall be in safety in their land, and shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them out of the hand of those that kept them in servitude. ²⁸ And they shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the beast of the earth devour them; but they shall dwell in safety, and none shall make them afraid. ²⁹ And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the ignominy of the nations any more. ³⁰ And they shall know that I Jehovah their God [am] with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord Jehovah. ³¹ And ye, my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men: I [am] your God, saith the Lord Jehovah.

³ And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be [another] man`s, and I will also be for thee. ⁴ For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without statue, and without ephod and teraphim. ⁵ Afterwards shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king; and shall turn with fear toward Jehovah and toward his goodness, at the end of the days.

² (And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)

⁴ And he shall stand and feed [his flock] in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God. And they shall abide; for now shall he be great even unto the ends of the earth. ⁵ And this [man] shall be Peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes of men.

¹⁴ Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine inheritance, dwelling alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

³⁹ And this is the will of him that has sent me, that of all that he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day. ⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, should have life eternal; and I will raise him up at the last day.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; ²⁸ and I give them life eternal; and they shall never perish, and no one shall seize them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who has given [them] to me is greater than all, and no one can seize out of the hand of my Father. ³⁰ I and the Father are one.

¹² When I was with them I kept them in thy name; those thou hast given me I have guarded, and not one of them has perished, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

⁹ that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, [As to] those whom thou hast given me, I have not lost one of them.

¹⁵ When therefore they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He says to him again a second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Shepherd my sheep. ¹⁷ He says to him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, art thou attached to me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Art thou attached to me? and said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own. ²⁹ [For] *I* know [this,] that there will come in amongst you after my departure grievous wolves, not sparing the flock;

⁵ who are kept guarded by [the] power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in [the] last time.

¹ The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed: ² shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily; ³ not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock. ⁴ And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
