²⁵ then shall there enter in, through the gates of this city, kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall be inhabited for ever.

¹⁴ And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall celebrate it [as] a feast to Jehovah; throughout your generations [as] an ordinance for ever shall ye celebrate it.

¹⁶ Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor lead back the people to Egypt, to multiply horses; for Jehovah hath said unto you, Ye shall not return again any more that way.

¹¹ And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: he will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, on his chariot and among his horsemen, and they shall run before his chariots;

¹⁶ And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made firm for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

⁴ And David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David houghed all the chariot [horses], but reserved of them [for] a hundred chariots.

⁴ And [as for] thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, [and] wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances; ⁵ then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

²⁹ And I will establish his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. ³⁰ If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances; ³¹ If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments: ³² Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. ³³ Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness; ³⁴ My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. ³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David: ³⁶ His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me; ³⁷ It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. Selah.

¹¹ Jehovah hath sworn [in] truth unto David; he will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne; ¹² If thy children keep my covenant, and my testimonies which I will teach them, their children also for evermore shall sit upon thy throne. ¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his dwelling: ¹⁴ This is my rest for ever; here will I dwell, for I have desired it.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with judgment and with righteousness, from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹³ And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, and the kings that sit for David upon his throne, and the priests and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

⁴ For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in through the gates of this house kings sitting in the place of David upon his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, -- he, and his servants, and his people.

³⁰ Thus saith Jehovah: Write this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

¹⁵ In those days, and at that time, will I cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

¹⁷ For thus saith Jehovah: There shall never fail to David a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

²¹ [then] shall also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites, the priests, my ministers.

³² *He* shall be great, and shall be called Son of [the] Highest; and [the] Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father; ³³ and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for the ages, and of his kingdom there shall not be an end.
