³ And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as the Almighty ?God; but by my name Jehovah I was not made known to them.

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land. And there he built an altar to Jehovah who had appeared to him. ⁸ And he removed thence towards the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, [having] Bethel toward the west, and Ai toward the east; and there he built an altar to Jehovah, and called on the name of Jehovah.

¹⁸ Then Abram moved [his] tents, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron. And he built there an altar to Jehovah.

¹ And Abram was ninety-nine years old, when Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said to him, I [am] the Almighty ?God: walk before my face, and be perfect.

¹⁴ And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh; as it is said at the present day, On the mount of Jehovah will be provided.

³ And the Almighty ?God bless thee, and make thee fruitful and multiply thee, that thou mayest become a company of peoples.

¹¹ And God said to him, I am the Almighty ?God: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee; and kings shall come out of thy loins.

³ And Jacob said to Joseph, The Almighty ?God appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: I AM hath sent me unto you.

⁴ Sing unto God, sing forth his name; cast up a way for him that rideth in the deserts: his name is Jah; and rejoice before him.

¹⁸ That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, art the Most High over all the earth.

⁸ I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

⁶ Thus saith Jehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts: I [am] the first, and I [am] the last, and beside me there is no God.

⁵ and now, what have I here, saith Jehovah, that my people hath been taken away for nought? They that rule over them make them to howl, saith Jehovah; and continually all the day is my name scorned. ⁶ Therefore my people shall know my name; therefore [they shall know] in that day that I [am] HE, that saith, Here am I.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

⁴ John to the seven assemblies which [are] in Asia: Grace to you and peace from [him] who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits which [are] before his throne;
