¹⁰ and repayeth them that hate him [each] to his face, to cause them to perish: he delayeth not with him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

⁵ thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I, Jehovah thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and to the fourth [generation] of them that hate me,

⁹ And thou shalt know that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful ?God, who keepeth covenant and mercy to a thousand generations with them that love him and keep his commandments;

²⁵ From without shall the sword bereave them, and in the chambers, terror -- Both the young man and the virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.

³⁵ Vengeance is mine, and recompense, For the time when their foot shall slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.

⁴¹ If I have sharpened my gleaming sword, And my hand take hold of judgment, I will render vengeance to mine adversaries, And will recompense them that hate me.

⁸ Thy hand shall find out all thine enemies; thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. ⁹ Thou shalt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thy presence; Jehovah shall swallow them up in his anger, and the fire shall devour them:

³¹ Behold, the righteous shall be requited on the earth: how much more the wicked and the sinner.

¹⁸ According to deeds, so will he repay: fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

² A jealous and avenging ?God is Jehovah: an avenger is Jehovah, and full of fury: Jehovah taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth [wrath] for his enemies.

²³ He that hates me hates also my Father. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other one has done, they had not had sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

¹⁹ not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance [belongs] to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.

⁹ [The] Lord does not delay his promise, as some account of delay, but is longsuffering towards you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ¹⁰ But the day of [the] Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and [the] elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, and [the] earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.
