¹³ who before was a blasphemer and persecutor, and an insolent overbearing [man]: but mercy was shewn me because I did it ignorantly, in unbelief.

³⁰ But the soul that doeth ought with a high hand, whether born in the land, or a stranger, he reproacheth Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

²³ And I will sow her unto me in the land; and I will have mercy upon Lo-ruhamah; and I will say to Lo-ammi, Thou art my people; and they shall say, My God.

⁴⁷ But that bondman who knew his own lord`s will, and had not prepared [himself] nor done his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes];

³⁴ And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And, parting out his garments, they cast lots.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment am I come into this world, that they which see not may see, and they which see may become blind. ⁴⁰ And [some] of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him, Are we blind also? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If ye were blind ye would not have sin; but now ye say, We see, your sin remains.

¹⁷ And now, brethren, I know that ye did it in ignorance, as also your rulers;

³ But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into the houses one after another, and dragging off both men and women delivered them up to prison.

¹ But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came to the high priest

⁵ And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], *I* am Jesus, whom *thou* persecutest.

¹³ And Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem;

⁴ who have persecuted this way unto death, binding and delivering up to prisons both men and women;

⁹ *I* indeed myself thought that I ought to do much against the name of Jesus the Nazaraean. ¹⁰ Which also I did in Jerusalem, and myself shut up in prisons many of the saints, having received the authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my vote. ¹¹ And often punishing them in all the synagogues, I compelled them to blaspheme. And, being exceedingly furious against them, I persecuted them even to cities out [of our own land].

²⁰ But law came in, in order that the offence might abound; but where sin abounded grace has overabounded, ²¹ in order that, even as sin has reigned in [the power of] death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³⁰ For as indeed *ye* [also] once have not believed in God, but now have been objects of mercy through the unbelief of *these*; ³¹ so these also have now not believed in your mercy, in order that *they* also may be objects of mercy.

²⁵ But concerning virgins, I have no commandment of [the] Lord; but I give my opinion, as having received mercy of [the] Lord to be faithful.

⁹ For *I* am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called apostle, because I have persecuted the assembly of God.

¹³ For ye have heard [what was] my conversation formerly in Judaism, that I excessively persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it;

⁶ as to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which [is] in [the] law, found blameless;

¹⁶ But for this reason mercy was shewn me, that in me, [the] first, Jesus Christ might display the whole long-suffering, for a delineation of those about to believe on him to life eternal.

¹⁶ Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help.

⁴ For it is impossible to renew again to repentance those once enlightened, and who have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of [the] Holy Spirit, ⁵ and have tasted the good word of God, and [the] works of power of [the] age to come, ⁶ and have fallen away, crucifying for themselves [as they do] the Son of God, and making a show of [him]. ⁷ For ground which drinks the rain which comes often upon it, and produces useful herbs for those for whose sakes also it is tilled, partakes of blessing from God; ⁸ but bringing forth thorns and briars, it is found worthless and nigh to a curse, whose end [is] to be burned.

²⁶ For where we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and heat of fire about to devour the adversaries. ²⁸ Any one that has disregarded Moses` law dies without mercy on [the testimony of] two or three witnesses: ²⁹ of how much worse punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and esteemed the blood of the covenant, whereby he has been sanctified, common, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

¹⁰ who once [were] not a people, but now God`s people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.

²¹ For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known [it] to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But that [word] of the true proverb has happened to them: [The] dog [has] turned back to his own vomit; and, [The] washed sow to [her] rolling in mud.
