⁶ He that says he abides in him ought, even as *he* walked, himself also [so] to walk.

¹³ Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls;

¹⁵ for I have given you an example that, as I have done to you, ye should do also.

⁴ Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abide in the vine, thus neither [can] ye unless ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye [are] the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, *he* bears much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. ⁶ Unless any one abide in me he is cast out as the branch, and is dried up; and they gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

¹ Be my imitators, even as *I* also [am] of Christ.

² and walk in love, even as the Christ loved us, and delivered himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.

²¹ For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:

⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practise the truth. ⁷ But if we walk in the light as *he* is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

⁴ He that says, I know him, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

²⁸ And now, children, abide in him, that if he be manifested we may have boldness, and not be put to shame from before him at his coming.

⁶ Whoever abides in him, does not sin: whoever sins, has not seen him or known him.
