²³ I wil heape myscheues vpo them, I wil spende all myne arowes at them. ²⁴ They shal pyne awaye thorow honger, & be consumed of the feuers, and of bytter sicknesses. I wil sende amonge them ye tethe of beestes, and furious serpentes.

¹³ He hath prepayred him the weapens of death, & ordened his arowes to destroye.

⁵ Good lucke haue thou with thine honoure, ryde on with the treuth, mekenesse & rightuousnes: & thy right hode shal teach ye woderfull thinges.

⁵ Sela. Thou louest to speake all wordes yt maye do hurte, O thou false toge.

⁴ Sela. This shal God sende, for his mercy and faithfulnesse sake. I lye with my soule amonge the cruell lyons:

⁷ Beholde, they speake (agaynst me) wt their mouth, swerdes are vnder their lippes, for who reproueth the?

⁹ Sela. Let the myschefe of their owne lippes fall vpon ye head of the, yt copase me aboute. ¹⁰ Let hote burnynge coales fall vpo the, let the be cast in to the fyre, and in to the pytt, that they neuer ryse vp agayne. ¹¹ A man full of wordes shal not prospere vpon earth: a malicious & wicked person shal be hunted awaye and destroyed.

⁹ Thorow ye mouth of ye dyssembler is his neghboure destroyed, but thorow knowlege shal the iust be delyuered.

¹² A foole bryngeth vp a slaunder of his neghboure, but a wyse man wil kepe it secrete.

¹⁸ The laboure of the vngodly prospereth not, but he that soweth rightuosnes, shal receaue a sure rewarde.

²² The LORDE abhorreth disceatfull lippes, but they that laboure for treuth, please him.

²⁷ An vngodly personne stereth vp euell, and in his lippes he is as an whote burnynge fyre.

⁸ The wordes of a slaunderer are very woudes, and go thorow vnto the ynmost partes of the body.

²¹ Death and life stonde in the power of the tonge, he that loueth it, shal enioye the frute therof.

⁵ A false wytnesse shal not remayne vnpunyshed, and he that speaketh lyes shal not escape.

⁵ Euen so the toge is a lyttell member, and bosteth great thinges. Beholde how gret a thinge a lyttell fyre kyndleth, ⁶ and the tonge is fyre, and a worlde of wyckednes. So is the tonge set amonge oure membres, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth a fyre all that we haue of nature, and is it selfe set a fyre euen of hell. ⁷ All the natures of beastes, and of byrdes, and of serpentes, and thinges of the see, are meked and tamed of the nature of ma. ⁸ But the toge can no man tame. Yt is an vnruely euell full of deedly poysou.

⁸ But the fearefull and vnbeleuynge, and the abhominable, and murthurers, and whormongers, and sorcerers, and ydolaters, & all lyars, shal haue their parte in the lake, that burneth with fyre and brymstone, which is the seconde death.
