²² Vnderstondinge is a well of life vnto him yt hath it, as for ye chastenynge of fooles, it is but foolishnesse.

¹¹ The mouth of a rightuous man is a well of life, but ye mouth of the vngodly is past shame, & presumptuous.

¹⁴ The lawe is a wel of life vnto the wyse, that it maye kepe him from the snares of death.

These ought to haue bene done, and not to leaue the other behynde. ²⁴ O ye blynde gydes, which strayne out a gnat, but swalowe vp a Camell. ²⁵ Wo vnto you scrybes and Pharises, ye Ypocrytes, which make cleane the vttersyde of the cuppe and platter, but within are ye full of robbery and excesse. ²⁶ Thou blynde Pharise, clense first the in syde of the cuppe and platter, that the out syde maye be cleane also.

³⁹ And he sayde a symilitude vnto the: Can the blynde shewe the waye to ye blynde? Do they not both the fall in to the dyche? ⁴⁰ The disciple is not aboue his master. But whosoeuer is perfecte, ye same shalbe as his master.

²⁴ Verely verely I saye vnto you: Who so heareth my worde, and beleueth him that sent me, hath euerlastinge life, and cometh not in to damnacion, but is passed thorow from death vnto life.

⁶³ It is ye sprete that quyckeneth, ye flesh profiteth nothinge. The wordes that I speake, are sprete, and are life.
