⁴⁰ In these two commaundementes hange all the lawe and the prophetes.

¹² Therfore what soeuer ye wolde that me shulde do to you, eue so do ye to them. This ys the lawe and the Prophetes.

¹⁷ For the lawe was geuen by Moses, grace and trueth came by Iesus Christ.

¹⁹ But we knowe, yt, what soeuer the lawe sayeth, it sayeth it vnto them which are vnder the lawe, yt euery mouthe maye be stopped, & yt all the worlde maye be detter vnto God, ²⁰ because yt by ye dedes of the lawe no flesh maye be iustified in his sighte. For by the lawe commeth but the knowlege of synne. ²¹ But now without addinge to of ye lawe is the righteousnes which avayleth before God, declared, hauynge witnesse of ye lawe and the prophetes:

⁹ For where it is sayde: ( Thou shalt not breake wedlocke: thou shalt not kyll: thou shalt not steale: thou shalt not beare false witnesse: thou shalt not lust) and yf there be eny other commaundement, it is compreheded in this worde.Thou shalt loue thy neghboure as thy selfe.

⁵ For ye chefe summe of the commaundement is loue of a pure hert, and of a good coscience, and of faith vnfayned.

⁸ Yf ye fulfill the royall lawe acordinge to the scripture which saith: Thou shalt loue thyne neghbour as thyselfe, ye do well.

⁷ Dearly beloued, let vs loue one another, for loue commeth of God. And euery one yt loueth, is borne of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue. ⁹ By this appeared the loue of God to vs warde, because that God sent his onely begotten sonne in to this worlde, that we mighte lyue thorow him. ¹⁰ Herein is loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, and sent his sonne to make agremet for oure synnes. ¹¹ Dearly beloued, yf God so loued vs, we oughte also to loue one another.

¹⁹ Let vs loue him, for he loued vs first. ²⁰ Yf eny man saye: I loue God, & yet hateth his brother, he is a lyar. For he that loueth not his brother whom he seyth, how can he loue God, whom he seyth not? ²¹ And this comaundement haue we of him, that he which loueth God, shulde loue his brother also.
