²⁰ Remembre my worde, that I sayde vnto you: The seruaunt is not greater then his lorde. Yf they haue persecuted me, they shal persecute you also: Yf they haue kepte my worde, they shal kepe yours also.

⁷ The LORDE saide vnto Samuel: Herken vnto the voice of the people in all yt they haue sayde vnto the. For they haue not refused the, but me, yt I shulde not be kinge ouer them.

¹ Bvt who geueth credence vnto oure preachinge? Or to who is the arme of the LORDE knowne? ² He shal growe before the LORDE like as a brauch, & as a rote in a drie grounde. When we loke vpon him, there shalbe no fayrnesse: we shal haue no lust vnto him. ³ He shalbe the most symple & despised of all, which yet hath good experience of sorowes & infirmities. ⁷ But the house off Israel wil not folowe ye, for they wil not folowe me: Yee all the house off Israel haue stiff foreheades and harde hertes.

²⁴ The disciple is not aboue the master, nether the seruaunt aboue the LORDE.

³⁴ And Symeon blessed them, and sayde vnto Mary his mother: Beholde, this (childe) shalbe set to a fall, and to an vprysinge agayne of many in Israel, and for a token, which shalbe spoke agaynst.

⁴⁰ The disciple is not aboue his master. But whosoeuer is perfecte, ye same shalbe as his master.

And they slewe the, which tolde before of the comynge of ye righteous, whose traytours and murthurers ye are now become. ⁵³ Ye receaued the lawe by the mynistracion of angels, and haue not kepte it. ⁵⁴ Whan they herde this, it wente thorow ye hertes of the, and they gnasshed vpo him with their tethe. ⁵⁵ But he beynge full of the holy goost, loked vp towarde heauen, and sawe the glorye of God, and Iesus stodinge on the righte hande of God, ⁵⁶ and sayde: Beholde, I se the heauens open, and the sonne of ma stondinge on ye righte honde of God. ⁵⁷ But they cried out with a loude voyce, & stopped their eares, and rane violently vpon him all at once, ⁵⁸ and thrust him out of the cite, and stoned him. And ye witnesses layed downe their clothes at the fete of a yonge man, which was called Saul. ⁵⁹ And they stoned Steuen, which cryed, & sayde: LORDE Iesu, receaue my sprete. ⁶⁰ And he kneled downe, & cried with a loude voyce: LORDE, laye not this synne to their charge. And wha he had thus spoken, he fell a slepe.

¹² and laboure and worke with oure awne handes. We are reuyled, and yet we blesse: we are persecuted, and suffre it:

⁹ We are persecuted, but we are not forsaken. We are oppressed, neuertheles we perish not.

¹⁵ Which as they put the LORDE Iesus to death, and their awne prophetes, euen so haue they persecuted vs also, and please not God, and are cotrary to all men,

¹² Yee and all they that wil lyue godly in Christ Iesu, must suffre persecucion.
