⁴ John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

¹⁰ This took place for two years, so that all who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.

¹⁰ And, "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands; ¹¹ they will perish, but you remain; they will all grow old like a garment, ¹² you will roll them up like a mantle; and like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end." ¹³ But to which of the angels has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a stool for your feet"?

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

¹⁷ Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen exiles in the Dispersion, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, ² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.

¹ The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place. And he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

¹¹ saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

⁸ "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'These are the words of the First and the Last, who died, and came to life:

⁵ From the throne come flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder. And before the throne were seven lamps of fire, which are the seven spirits of God;

⁸ And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to sing, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come."

⁶ And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as if it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
