⁷ Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you without charge? ⁸ I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you. ⁹ And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

³ Yes, and I ask you also, true yoke-fellow, to help these women who have struggled at my side in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

¹⁸ I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

⁷ as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,

¹¹ and also Jesus who is called Justus. These are the only men of the circumcision among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have proved to be a comfort to me.

³ Share in hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No soldier in active service gets entangled in civilian affairs, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.
