³¹ Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night and day to admonish each one with tears.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. ³⁵ In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written: "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."

¹¹ To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and we are poorly clothed, and roughly treated, and homeless; ¹² and we toil, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;

⁵ Do not deprive one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
